How to Set the System or App Language on a Galaxy A12

Use General management settings to change the Galaxy A12’s default language, add or remove languages, or set a supported app to another language.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To change the system language on a Samsung Galaxy A12, open Settings > General management > Language, then select a language or add one and set it as the default. You can also keep multiple languages on the phone, remove an added language, or change an individual app’s language if your software and that app support the option.

Change the Galaxy A12’s system language

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap General management, then Language.

  3. To use a language already listed, tap it. If a confirmation appears, tap Apply.

  4. If the language is not listed, tap Add language, choose it, then select Set as default to make it the phone’s default. Choose Keep current if you want to add the language without changing the current default.

Samsung’s general Galaxy instructions use these labels, but screens can differ by model, software version, and carrier. If your A12’s menus do not match, search Settings for “Language” or consult the support materials for your exact model and region. Samsung’s language and input settings guide describes the general route and its variations.

Edit appears only when more than one language has been added. If it is missing, add another language first.

Set a different language for one app

Samsung’s instructions for app-specific languages cover Android 13 with One UI 5. On a compatible device, open Settings > General management > App languages, select an app, and choose one of the languages it offers. The option is not available for every app: support depends on the app developer, and software or device configuration may affect whether the menu appears. Samsung’s app-language guidance explains this limitation.

Why the menus may differ between Galaxy A12 phones

Galaxy A12 support documentation is not identical across regions and model variants. For example, Samsung lists Android R 11.0 documentation for the US AT&T SM-A125U, while regional support pages list Android 12 and Android 13 manuals for A12 variants. Those listings do not establish that every A12 received the same Android release. Check your model number and installed Android/One UI version if a setting is absent or labeled differently.
