You can’t set custom Super Chat price tiers as a creator. You enable Super Chat in YouTube Studio; each viewer chooses an amount in the purchase screen. India is an eligible creator location, but the amount options—and any minimum or maximum—should be checked in the viewer’s live-chat purchase flow: YouTube’s current help guidance does not publish an India-specific rupee price ladder.
Who can turn on Super Chat in India?
Super Chat is available to eligible YouTube Partner Program creators, not automatically to every channel. The creator must be at least 18, live in a location where the feature is available, and accept the applicable Commerce Product Module or legacy Commerce Product Addendum. India appears on YouTube’s current location-availability list, subject to channel and stream eligibility (YouTube Help: Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility, availability, and policies; YouTube Help: YouTube Commerce Products monetization policies).
Eligibility is also checked for the individual live stream. Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. Live chat or comments must not be turned off.
How to enable Super Chat in YouTube Studio
- Open the YouTube Studio mobile app and tap Earn, then Supers.
- If the Supers card is not shown, open the Supers section and tap Get started, then Turn on.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. If this is your first time setting up Supers, YouTube may ask you to accept the Commerce Product Module.
- Use an eligible live stream or Premiere with live chat enabled. Supers products then appear on eligible streams; Super Chat and Super Stickers are automatically available on eligible live streams and Premieres with live chat enabled.
YouTube’s activation instructions are in its Turn Super Chat & Super Stickers on or off guide. If the Supers option is missing, first check the channel’s YPP and agreement eligibility, then verify that the specific stream meets the restrictions above.

How viewers choose a Super Chat amount
When watching a live chat where Super Chat is available, a viewer opens the purchase flow and selects an amount by moving the slider or entering a desired value. They may add an optional message and submit the purchase. The available choices shown in that flow are the useful reference for that viewer; YouTube’s reviewed help pages do not provide an India-specific rupee ladder or a published minimum and maximum. Don’t use channel-membership prices as a substitute: memberships are a different product with separate pricing.
The amount can affect the chat color and how long the message stays pinned. The purchase amount, message, buyer’s channel name, and profile picture are publicly visible. A Super Chat belongs to the live chat or video where it was purchased; it does not transfer to another video. See YouTube’s viewer instructions for buying a Super Chat or Super Sticker.

What creators can manage and review
Turning the feature on makes it available for eligible streams; it does not give the creator a setting to assign each viewer’s purchase amount. During a stream, creators can filter live chat for fan-funding activity and acknowledge or heart purchases. Afterward, recent Supers and transaction information are available in YouTube Studio under Earn > Supers, and Supers revenue reporting is available in YouTube Analytics (YouTube Help: Manage YouTube Super Chat & Super Stickers for Live Chat).
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google, calculated after deductions for local sales tax and iOS App Store fees. The applicable details are described in YouTube’s Supers management guidance.

Important policy distinction
YouTube Help says Super Chat and Super Stickers “aren’t crowdfunding or donation tools.” They are fan-funding features, and creators are responsible for complying with applicable laws; local law may treat payments differently. Don’t describe a Super Chat as a donation or promise a particular tax or legal treatment.
