Set your checkout shipping price by comparing what the customer pays with what Printful charges you to fulfill each order. They are separate amounts: Printful’s cost varies by product size, weight and destination, while you choose the customer-facing charge in your store. You can charge a separate fee, offer free shipping funded through product prices, or use rates that vary by order or destination.
Start with the two shipping costs
Printful’s fulfillment shipping cost is the amount charged to you after an order is placed. Customer-facing shipping is the amount your store charges the buyer at checkout. The two do not have to match, but your prices need to account for any gap between them. Printful’s cost can vary with the product and destination, so check the actual products and markets you plan to sell to rather than assuming one rate covers every order.

Choose how the customer will pay
Offer free shipping and build the cost into product prices
“Free shipping” means the customer sees no separate shipping charge; it does not remove the fulfillment expense. Increase product prices enough to cover delivery costs, or otherwise account for them in your margins.
Charge a separate shipping fee
A checkout fee can cover all or part of Printful’s fulfillment charge. If it covers only part, the remaining cost can be built into product prices. Consider whether the checkout fee may discourage buyers, especially if it exceeds Printful’s fulfillment charge.
#1 Best Overall

- Clear LCD Display: Large, backlit screen makes weights easy to read, even in dim rooms.
- Multi-measuring units: Kg, lb/oz, oz
Compare the approaches against your order economics
Before setting rates, model the full order: product cost, customer shipping charge and Printful fulfillment cost. This makes any shortfall visible and helps you decide whether to recover it through product pricing or checkout shipping.
| Approach | How fulfillment cost is covered | What the customer sees |
|---|---|---|
| Free shipping | Product pricing or other margin | No separate shipping fee |
| Separate shipping fee | Checkout fee, product pricing, or both | A shipping charge at checkout |
| Conditional or zoned rates | Rates vary by qualifying order or destination | A rate determined by the applicable condition or zone |
Consider product size and weight, the destination, and whether an order-value or weight threshold gives you a workable rule. A single flat charge is simpler, but it may not reflect materially different orders or destinations.

Do not assume Printful rates sync automatically

Use manual flat-rate or order-price and weight conditions where available, and review your settings against the products and destinations you sell.
