Where to find Amazon Kids screen-time controls
Use the Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard, available on the web and as a mobile app. Amazon says Dashboard access is available to customers with at least one child profile. Start at Amazon’s Parent Dashboard help page. The screen-time steps below come from Amazon UK’s screen-time instructions; interface labels and availability may vary by marketplace and device.

Choose the correct child profile before changing anything. These controls are tied to that profile, so changing another child’s schedule will not set the limits for the intended profile.
Set daily time limits on the web dashboard
- Open the Parent Dashboard in a browser and sign in with the Amazon account associated with the child profile.
- Select the child’s profile.
- Choose Set Up Screen Time and turn on Daily Time Limits.
- Under Schedule, enter the limits you want.
- Choose Next, select the days the schedule should apply to, then choose Apply Changes.
The day selection lets you apply different rules to different days, such as weekdays and weekends. Check that the days you intended are selected before applying the changes.

Turn on daily screen time in the mobile app
- Open the Amazon Kids+ Parent Dashboard app and sign in.
- Select the child’s profile.
- Choose Set Up Screen Time, then turn on Daily Screen Time.
Amazon’s mobile instructions describe enabling daily screen time but do not provide the same detailed sequence of schedule fields as its desktop instructions. App labels and layout can change, so follow the controls shown for the selected profile rather than assuming every version has identical taps.
Use schedule controls for an evening or overnight cutoff
If the selected child profile offers schedule controls for when the tablet can be used, configure the allowed-use window so it excludes the evening or overnight period you want to restrict. Save or apply the schedule, then check the selected days and confirm it behaves as intended for that profile.

Do not assume an exact universal path to a separate Bedtime menu. Amazon’s current general support instructions cover daily time limits and schedules, while its broader Kids guidance says features vary by device. A standalone Bedtime label or identical behavior across Fire tablet models, software versions, and marketplaces is not established by those instructions. What the controls mean—and what they do not
- Daily limit: Sets the daily screen-time allowance through the child profile’s screen-time controls.
- Schedule: Applies usage rules to selected days and, where offered, can define when use is allowed. It is the relevant control to check for an evening or overnight restriction.
- Display sleep: The ordinary screen sleep timeout concerns how long the display stays on while idle; it is not proof that a child-profile schedule or bedtime cutoff has been set.
Do you need Amazon Kids+?
No additional Amazon Kids+ subscription is required just to use basic child profiles and parental screen-time controls on compatible devices. Amazon describes Kids+ as an optional subscription for additional premium content; child profiles can be created at no additional cost on compatible devices. The controls are separate from whether you subscribe to Kids+.
