For a standard stereo YouTube livestream, set OBS streaming audio to AAC, 128 kbps, and 44.1 kHz. To repeat the Hindi music, add the file as an OBS Media Source and turn on Loop. Hindi does not require a special bitrate in YouTube’s published live settings; its recommendations distinguish stereo from 5.1 audio, not language or genre.
Recommended OBS settings for a stereo YouTube music stream

Set the streaming audio bitrate in OBS under Settings → Output. The precise control label and available controls depend on your installed OBS version and output mode. In Simple mode, the streaming output controls are grouped there; Advanced mode lets you configure stream and recording settings independently.

OBS’s general streaming overview gives around 160 kbps as a broad starting point, or a lower value if upload speed is limited. That is not the YouTube-specific target: for this stereo YouTube setup, use YouTube’s 128 kbps recommendation. The two figures address different scopes, not competing universal rules. - Add the audio file: In your OBS scene, add a Media Source and select the local Hindi music file. OBS documents support for formats including MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV.
- Enable looping: Open the Media Source properties and switch on Loop. The source should restart when it reaches the end.
- Check the audio path: Confirm the source appears in the OBS audio mixer and that its meter responds during playback. Listen to make sure the level is usable and that the track is not silent or unexpectedly interrupted.
- Test before going live: Run a test with the actual audio and representative video or scene motion. Check that the track loops as expected and monitor stream health in YouTube during the test and event.

Why Hindi music does not change the bitrate setting
YouTube’s published live-audio recommendations specify settings by channel layout: 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz for stereo, versus 384 kbps and 48 kHz for 5.1 surround. They do not list a different bitrate for Hindi, another language, or a music genre. For a normal stereo music loop, use the stereo recommendation rather than adding 5.1 complexity without a suitable multichannel production and playback path.
A bitrate is not a guarantee of a particular perceived sound quality. Source quality, encoding, and playback conditions matter too. Listen to a representative passage on the live output before relying on the stream; do not assume a configuration number alone proves the result sounds right.

Troubleshooting a Hindi music loop
- The track stops at the end: Reopen the Media Source properties and verify that Loop is enabled. Confirm that you selected the intended file.
- The stream has no audio: Check that the source is active in the scene, its mixer meter moves during playback, and the streaming output is using the intended audio settings. Make a fresh test and listen to the YouTube output.
- You are unsure which bitrate control applies: Start in Settings → Output and check whether OBS is in Simple or Advanced output mode. The exact label can vary by version and mode; verify the streaming audio control rather than changing recording settings by mistake.
- YouTube reports stream-health problems: Check YouTube’s stream health and test again with audio and representative content before the event. A 128 kbps audio setting does not diagnose or resolve every stream-health issue.
- You are considering 5.1 for a stereo source: Keep the stream stereo unless you have a genuine 5.1 production and playback setup. YouTube’s 5.1 recommendations are 384 kbps and 48 kHz, but they do not make ordinary stereo music better by themselves.
Copyright and the right to stream the music
Technical settings do not grant permission to broadcast a recording. Before streaming a Hindi song or playlist, make sure you have the rights or authorization needed for the recording and composition in the territories where viewers may watch. YouTube may identify copyrighted material or apply restrictions; a test of the audio settings is not a copyright clearance.
