You can schedule the two YouTube live broadcasts to start at different clock times by setting a separate start time for each channel. If you mean that each continuous feed should begin at a different position in its content playlist, configure that in the playout system producing the feeds: YouTube’s documented broadcast schedule sets when a broadcast starts, not the playback position within a playlist.
First, identify which “start time” you want to change
- Different broadcast start times: Schedule each channel’s live broadcast separately in YouTube Studio. For example, one broadcast can be scheduled for 8:00 and the other for 8:30. Record the intended time zone in your operating notes so the two schedules are unambiguous.
- Different playlist starting positions: Set the initial content or playback offset in the encoder or hosted playout service that creates each feed. The YouTube documentation cited here does not establish a native playlist-offset control.
- Different content changes during an already-running feed: Program the rotation or content blocks in the playout system. A broadcast start schedule and a content schedule solve different problems.
Schedule a separate YouTube broadcast for each channel
- Check each channel’s eligibility. YouTube Help says live streaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Check both channels, since eligibility is channel-specific. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
- Open YouTube Studio for the first channel and create or select the live broadcast you intend to use. Choose its scheduled start time. YouTube’s API represents this time with the broadcast’s
snippet.scheduledStartTimefield; it is an ISO 8601 date-time. The API reference says a broadcast without a scheduled start time begins when the channel owner starts streaming. See the LiveBroadcasts API reference. - Repeat in the second channel’s own Studio account or channel context. Create or select that channel’s broadcast and set its own start time. Do not assume that scheduling the first channel schedules the second one.
- Keep destinations and stream resources separate. Google’s guide describes binding a broadcast to a live stream resource and says to create a different stream for each channel. Keep each channel’s broadcast, stream resource, and destination configuration matched to that channel. See Understanding Broadcasts and Streams.
- Write down the dates, times, and time zone for both channels, then check each broadcast’s schedule in its own channel context before the planned start. The documentation identifies the API date-time format but does not establish a particular YouTube Studio time-zone workflow, so confirm the displayed schedule rather than assuming how a local time will be interpreted.
Set different playlist positions inside continuous feeds
If both channels are meant to remain continuously live and you want one feed to begin with, for example, item 1 while the other begins with item 4, set that choice in the system that plays and sends the video. Use separate feed or playlist configurations if the system requires them, and verify that it supports different starting items or offsets for the two destinations. The available documentation does not confirm that either example service below can configure this exact two-channel initial-position arrangement.

For recurring changes after the feeds have started, look for calendar or automation controls in the playout system. For example, playout.video’s calendar guide describes scheduling recurring content blocks. That is an example of a vendor’s scheduling approach, not evidence of a YouTube-native playlist offset.

Hosted playout options
If you do not want to operate playout equipment yourself, hosted services may be worth checking for the exact playlist and destination controls you need. OneStream Live’s guide describes adding content, choosing a YouTube channel, entering stream details, and scheduling a 24-hour broadcast immediately or for later. OneStream states a maximum 24/7 duration of 30 days; that is the vendor’s stated limit, not a YouTube-wide rule. Verify whether a service supports separate initial playlist positions for your two channels before relying on it.

Troubleshooting
- The second channel does not start at its chosen time: Check that you scheduled a broadcast in the second channel’s own context, rather than only scheduling the first. Confirm the date and time recorded for each channel.
- The stream connects to the wrong channel or broadcast: Recheck the destination and stream-resource pairing for each channel. Google documents separate stream resources per channel; do not reuse one channel’s configuration as if it automatically applies to the other.
- The live stream cannot be scheduled or started: Check channel verification and whether live-streaming restrictions apply within the preceding 90 days, as specified in YouTube Help.
- The broadcast starts, but the wrong video or playlist item plays: The broadcast schedule controls when the live broadcast starts, not a documented position within the playlist. Change the playout system’s starting item or schedule and check its own feature documentation.
- You expect a recurring content change from the YouTube broadcast schedule: Put the recurring content timing in the encoder or hosted playout calendar. Broadcast scheduling and playlist automation are separate controls.

Does a scheduled broadcast time mean the playlist starts at a chosen item?
No such playlist-position behavior is established by the cited YouTube documentation. Configure the starting item in the system that produces the feed.
