Set a Bitcoin (BTC) price alert in an exchange or charting app, choose the market and price condition you care about, then allow notifications in both the app and your device settings. The alert tells you when its condition is met; it does not buy or sell Bitcoin for you.
Before you set a Bitcoin price alert
- Choose the right BTC market. Select the trading pair and quote currency that match the price you want to follow—for example, a BTC price quoted in your local currency may differ from a BTC/USD market.
- Pick a condition. A basic alert triggers when BTC rises above or falls below a target. Some platforms also offer percentage-change conditions.
- Choose where alerts arrive. Depending on the service, this may be a push notification, browser or desktop notification, in-app message, or email.
- Check the alert’s lifetime. Some alerts expire. Review the alert manager or platform settings and recreate an alert if it is no longer active.
Price alerts are informational, not trading instructions. Coinbase explicitly says its alerts do not place an order; an alert also does not guarantee that you can trade at the target price.

Set an alert in Coinbase
- In the Coinbase mobile app, search for and select the cryptocurrency you want to monitor.
- Add the asset to your watchlist using the star. Coinbase says only watchlisted assets send price alerts.
- Tap the bell-plus icon, then choose Add Alert.
- Choose whether the price should move above or below your target, enter the target and save.
- Open Notification Settings and choose whether custom alerts arrive by push, in-app notification and/or email. To receive push alerts, also allow notifications for Coinbase in your device settings.

Set an alert in Binance
- Switch to Binance Pro, then open Markets and select the BTC trading pair you want to follow.
- Open the pair’s Alert control.
- Choose an alert type, such as reaching a price, rising above or dropping to a price, or a percentage-change condition.
- Set the target and frequency, then select Create Alert.
- Allow Binance notifications in your phone settings so mobile alerts can be delivered. If you use desktop alerts, check the relevant system or browser notification permission too.
Binance’s support page, updated January 6, 2026, lists limits of 10 alerts per trading pair and 50 alerts overall, with a 90-day validity period for each alert. Check whether yours remains active after that period. See Binance’s price-alert instructions.
Set an alert in Kraken
On the web
- Add the Alerts widget to your Kraken layout.
- Use the widget to configure the price alert for the market you want to watch.
- Allow browser notifications if you want alerts delivered through the browser.
In the mobile app
- Turn on Kraken Pro push notifications in your device settings.
- Enable push notifications in the app, then configure the alert for the intended market.
Kraken’s documentation notes that a futures alert set on web may notify on mobile but may not link to the correct markets page in the same way as a spot alert. Its help page was last updated January 20, 2026. See Kraken’s price-alert guidance.

Set an alert in TradingView
- Open the BTC chart and market you want to monitor, then create an alert using the chart’s alert controls.
- Choose the price condition and target. TradingView also provides an alert manager where you can review alerts and their expiration.
- To receive it on your phone, install the current TradingView app, allow its push notifications in your device settings, and check Notify in App when creating the alert.
- For desktop pop-ups, allow browser or system notifications as appropriate for your setup.
After creating the alert, check the alert manager and expiration time to confirm it is active. Refer to TradingView’s guides to configure alerts, receive phone notifications, and set up alerts.

If a Bitcoin alert does not arrive
- Check both permission layers. Confirm notifications are enabled in the service and in your phone, browser or computer settings.
- Confirm the market and condition. Make sure you selected the intended BTC trading pair, quote currency, direction and target.
- Check prerequisites. Coinbase requires the asset to be on your watchlist; Binance’s documented alert flow is in Binance Pro.
- Review status and expiration. Look in the platform’s alert list or manager to verify the alert is still active and has not expired.
- Check the delivery type. An alert configured for email or in-app delivery will not necessarily appear as a phone push notification. On Kraken, a web-created futures alert may also behave differently from a spot alert when opened on mobile.
