A USDT or USDC balance on one network is not automatically interchangeable with the same ticker on another. TRON TRC-20 transfers use TRON resources and may require TRX; Polygon PoS transactions use POL for gas in the cited Polygon Mainnet setup. If sender and recipient need different networks, use only a provider or bridge that explicitly supports that asset and both ends.
What to confirm before sending
Treat the token and network as a pair—for example, USDC on Polygon PoS or a particular TRC-20 token on TRON. Ask the recipient which pair their wallet or exchange deposit screen supports, then follow that service’s current deposit instructions. A network can support a token even when a particular service will not accept deposits of it.

- Confirm the token name and network shown on the recipient’s deposit screen.
- Check that the sending wallet is configured for that same network and token.
- Verify any minimum deposit, address format, memo or tag requirement, and deposit restrictions with the recipient’s service.
- Do not assume USDT and USDC are interchangeable, or that matching tickers on different networks represent the same transferable balance.
Circle lists USDC on Polygon PoS, but its Mint/API services accept only specified assets on specified chains. Circle warns that sending unsupported assets, including bridged USDC, to a Circle Mint address may result in loss. That warning is specific to Circle’s service; other recipients have their own rules. Check the destination provider’s instructions rather than relying on a general token listing. Circle’s USDC on Polygon documentation

Recipient accepts the token on TRON
Send from a TRON wallet using the recipient’s confirmed TRON deposit address and the exact supported TRC-20 token. A TRC-20 transfer is a smart-contract call, so the sender needs sufficient TRON resources or TRX to cover any resource shortfall. TRON’s resource model documentation

Recipient accepts the token on Polygon PoS
Send using the precise Polygon PoS network and token supported by the recipient. The cited Polygon Mainnet setup identifies POL as the network currency and says the wallet needs POL to pay gas. Confirm the wallet’s current network configuration and gas estimate before signing. Polygon’s PoS getting-started guide
Sender and recipient need different networks
Do not send directly from a TRON balance to a Polygon address, or the reverse, unless a supported bridge or transfer provider explicitly handles the selected token and both networks. The network documentation and Circle’s USDC listing do not establish a universal direct TRON-to-Polygon route or a provider available in every country. Before using an intermediary, check supported asset and network pairs, your jurisdiction, fees, limits, settlement timing, custody model, and the provider’s recovery and support terms.

How TRON transfer fees work
TRON measures transaction data in Bandwidth and smart-contract computation in Energy. These resources may be obtained by staking TRX or receiving delegated resources. If the account does not have enough resources for a transaction, TRX can be burned to cover the shortfall. Therefore, a TRC-20 transfer does not have one universal fixed TRX fee: the amount depends on the transaction and available resources, as well as current network parameters. Check the wallet’s estimate and the account’s current resources before sending. TRON’s resource model documentation

How Polygon PoS gas works
In the cited Polygon Mainnet configuration, POL is the gas currency, so the sending wallet needs POL in addition to the stablecoin being transferred. This is not a fee quote: the actual gas charge varies with transaction details and current network conditions. Review the wallet’s current estimate and ensure the selected network is the intended Polygon PoS network before confirming. Polygon’s PoS getting-started guide
Send carefully and verify receipt
- Get the destination details. Ask the recipient for the exact token and network, then open the deposit screen and copy the address and any required memo or tag.
- Match the network in your wallet. Confirm that the token and selected network match the recipient’s instructions. Do not rely on a ticker or an address that merely looks familiar.
- Check the fee asset and estimate. For TRON, check available Bandwidth and Energy and the wallet’s TRX estimate. For Polygon PoS, check the POL balance and gas estimate.
- Review the transaction before signing. Confirm the destination address, network, token, and amount. Use the wallet’s normal signing flow; never give a seed phrase or private key to a provider or support representative.
- Consider a small test transfer. When appropriate for the amount and service, send a small test first and wait for the recipient to confirm it has arrived on the intended network before transferring the remainder. No universal test amount is established; consider network fees and the recipient’s minimum deposit.
- Keep the transaction record. Save the transaction ID and check its status on the relevant network or through the recipient service’s deposit history.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Sending to a network the recipient does not support: a service may reject or fail to credit a token even if the chain itself supports it.
- Confusing native and bridged tokens: a bridged version of a stablecoin may not be accepted where the native token is expected. Circle specifically warns against unsupported assets, including bridged USDC, at its Mint address.
- Assuming an address alone proves compatibility: matching-looking addresses do not establish that a service accepts deposits on the selected network.
- Sending cross-network without a route: a TRON transaction does not by itself move funds to Polygon. Use an intermediary only after verifying its exact route and terms.
- Expecting a fixed fee: TRON resource availability and current parameters affect costs, while Polygon gas varies with transaction details and network conditions.
Wallet address compatibility is not network compatibility
Circle’s wallet documentation says EVM-compatible networks such as Polygon can map to the same address within a Circle wallet set. It also warns that, in that specific Circle wallet setup, using a generic EVM wallet for signing in place of an already-created native wallet can leave a transaction stuck. This guidance is specific to Circle’s documented wallet configuration; it should not be generalized to every consumer wallet or treated as permission to send on an unsupported network.
