Powder or scouring crème?
Ajax Scouring Crème is a separate product, not simply another name for the bleach-containing powder. The URM Foodservice catalog describes its crème as having “No harsh abrasives so it is perfect for modern surfaces,” and says it “Polishes and destains to keep surfaces looking new.” The catalog also calls it “Especially effective on vertical surfaces.” These are catalog descriptions, not independent performance-test results.

Choose based on the formulation and label directions for the surface and task. The catalog information does not establish that either format is universally more effective.
Take care with stainless steel and equipment
Although the Smart & Final listing includes stainless steel among the powder’s applications, stainless steel finishes and equipment instructions can differ. S.R. Smith advises using warm water, gentle soap or detergent, and a soft cloth on its equipment surfaces; it warns that bleach-containing cleaners can dull stainless steel and recommends testing a product on an inconspicuous spot before wider use. Its manual also lists Ajax Cleanser among products not to use on its pool slides. Those equipment-specific cautions should not be treated as universal household rules, but they matter when cleaning the manufacturer’s equipment.
