To document a product page accurately, capture the selected product variant, the subscription price and billing interval, and the one-time price without obscuring which terms apply to each. If an introductory price changes at renewal, include that later amount too. Choose a focused viewport screenshot when the selector and prices fit; use a full-page capture or a second close-up when they do not.
Prepare the product page before you capture it
- Open the exact product page and select the relevant variant, such as size or color.
- Select the subscription option and record the displayed amount, currency, billing interval, introductory terms, and renewal amount if shown.
- Check whether the page also shows per-delivery or unit pricing, a prepaid total, a signup fee, or a free trial. Preserve those details when they affect what the customer pays.
- Select the one-time purchase option and note its displayed price. If both choices are visible at once, make sure each price is clearly labeled.
- Before saving the image, confirm the selected plan and variant are the ones you mean to document.
Do not assume the page opens with the intended option selected. For example, WPSubscription documents an implementation where the first subscription card is selected by default and the billing note changes when a duration is selected. Make the prices understandable in the screenshot
A useful comparison distinguishes the purchase type, amount and currency, billing cadence, timing of charges, and the product variant or plan selected. Preserve the price basis shown by the page: a per-delivery amount is not necessarily the same as a prepaid total, and an introductory charge may not be the renewal charge.

- Subscription: show the amount and how often it is charged, such as monthly or every three months.
- One-time purchase: make clear that the displayed amount applies to buying once.
- Introductory offer: if the page shows a lower initial price followed by a different renewal amount, capture both terms or make a second image of the renewal details.
- Savings: include a savings claim only when the page itself identifies the comparison basis and the condition, such as subscribing.
- Variant and state: keep enough product context in frame to identify the item and the selected size, color, or plan.
Shopify’s subscription UX guidance recommends clearly identifying subscription pricing and applicable savings against a one-time purchase. It also discusses price, compare-at price, per-delivery pricing for prepaid plans when different, unit price, and subscription badges. Capture the page on desktop with Chrome DevTools

- Open the product page in Chrome and choose the correct variant and purchase option.
- Open DevTools with F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows/Linux, or Option+Command+I on macOS.
- To capture a mobile or other viewport, turn on the device toolbar with Ctrl+Shift+M on Windows/Linux or Command+Shift+M on macOS, then set the desired viewport.
- Open the DevTools command menu with Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows/Linux or Command+Shift+P on macOS. Search for Capture screenshot for the visible viewport or Capture full size screenshot for the full page, then select the matching command.
- Open the saved image and verify that the price labels, selected state, and terms are readable. If the full-page image makes the text too small, capture a second focused image instead.
Keyboard shortcuts can vary with browser version, operating system, and keyboard layout. If a shortcut does not open the command menu, use the DevTools menu or command search and select the capture command by name.

Capture a full webpage on iPhone
Apple documents full-page screenshots for content longer than the screen, including webpages viewed in Safari. After capturing the page, select the full-page option in the screenshot interface and check that the purchase selection and terms remain legible. This is particularly useful for documenting the mobile layout; a long capture is not a substitute for a focused image if the pricing text becomes too small. Label and preserve the evidence
- Keep the original image unchanged; do not edit amounts or remove wording that changes the offer’s meaning.
- When the screenshot will be used as evidence, label it with the capture date, platform, device or browser, region/currency, and selected variant or plan.
- If the subscription and one-time prices require different selected states, save separate images and label each state rather than implying both were selected simultaneously.
- A screenshot records what the page displayed at capture time; it does not establish that the price remains available later or that a discount is valid.

Common capture problems
- The screenshot shows the wrong price: a different variant or purchase option may be selected. Return to the page, select the intended state, and check the label and amount before capturing.
- The billing note does not match the chosen duration: some product-page selectors update billing text when the plan changes. Select the duration again and wait for the displayed terms to update before saving.
- The full-page screenshot is hard to read: use a viewport capture or add a second focused screenshot of the selector and price rather than shrinking the page.
- The initial offer is visible but renewal terms are not: capture the renewal details separately if the page provides them; do not present the introductory amount alone as the recurring price.
- The image lacks enough context: include the product identity and selected variant or plan, or label the image with those details without altering the captured offer.
