In Safari, take a screenshot, open its thumbnail, choose Full Page, then tap Done. Save the capture to Photos as an image or to Files as a PDF. Apple Support documents this method for content extending beyond the iPad screen, including an entire webpage.
Capture the full webpage in Safari
- Open the webpage in Safari and take a screenshot. On an iPad with Face ID, quickly press and release the top button and either volume button at the same time. On an iPad with a Home button, quickly press and release the top button and the Home button at the same time.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail that appears in the lower-left corner.
- Choose Full Page. Use the preview on the right to inspect more of the captured page; crop it if needed.
- Tap Done, then choose Save to Photos for an image or Save PDF to Files and select a location for a PDF.
The Full Page control is in the screenshot editor, after you take the screenshot. It captures content beyond what was visible on the screen.

Choose the right save format
- Photos: Choose Save to Photos when you want an image file.
- Files: Choose Save PDF to Files when you want a PDF document.
Other ways to take the initial screenshot
Apple also lists an Apple Pencil swipe up from either bottom corner, AssistiveTouch, and Siri as alternate ways to take a screenshot. The documented Full Page sequence starts by opening the screenshot thumbnail; Apple does not establish that every alternate trigger exposes identical full-page controls in every configuration.

Full Page capture versus Safari’s webpage PDF export
Safari has a separate webpage-to-PDF workflow for annotation. Open the page, tap Share, choose Markup from the available actions, annotate if you want, tap Done, then tap Save File To. This is a webpage markup and export route; it is distinct from choosing Full Page in the screenshot editor.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. It is an alternative for capturing a webpage from a request or an AI agent, not a replacement for taking a screenshot directly on an iPad. One GET request returns a screenshot; the API also supports PDF output. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webpScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers say which page verdict applied and whether the request was billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot tools. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.

If Full Page does not appear or the capture looks incomplete
- Check that you opened the screenshot thumbnail. Full Page is chosen in the screenshot editor after taking the screenshot, not from Safari’s Share menu.
- Confirm you are using Safari’s screenshot flow. Apple documents this full-page sequence for Safari webpages; the cited instructions do not promise the same controls for every app or alternate screenshot trigger.
- Inspect the preview before saving. Drag through it and crop if needed. Apple’s guide does not specify a maximum page length or guarantee capture for every site, especially pages with unusual or dynamic behavior.
