To capture content below the part of a webpage currently on screen, use your browser’s built-in full-page screenshot feature if it has one, or install a full-page screenshot extension from the browser’s official store. In Firefox, right-click an empty part of the page, choose Take Screenshot, then choose Save full page. If you specifically want an extension’s toolbar workflow or editing tools, check its compatibility, permissions and privacy information before installing it.
What a full-page screenshot captures
A regular screenshot records only the visible browser viewport. A full-page screenshot aims to include the webpage content above and below that area in one saved capture. The result depends on how the browser or extension captures and assembles the page, so inspect long or interactive pages before sharing the image.

Capture a full webpage in Firefox without an extension
Firefox includes a built-in screenshot workflow, so you can try it before installing anything.

- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. You can also open the screenshot interface with Command+Shift+S on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows and Linux.
- Select Save full page in the upper-right corner.
- Download the image or copy it, depending on what you need.
Firefox Developer Tools provide another built-in route: enable the screenshot button in the toolbox settings, or open the Web Console and run :screenshot --fullpage. The Firefox Source Docs describe additional screenshot command options.

Choose and use a full-page screenshot extension
Check the listing before installing
Open your browser’s official extension store and search for full page screenshot or full-page capture. Confirm that the listing supports your browser and version, then review its update history, permissions, privacy disclosures and available output formats. An extension’s feature description is the publisher’s claim; it is not a guarantee that every feature will work on every page.
For example, the GoFullPage Chrome Web Store listing includes a changelog entry dated September 24, 2026. That is a listing date, not an independent endorsement or a measure of capture quality. Chrome Web Store’s Full Page Screen Capture listing describes annotation, redaction and export features. Compare listings for the particular workflow you need rather than assuming extensions behave alike.

Run a capture
- Open a normal webpage in the browser where the extension is installed.
- Select the extension’s toolbar button or use its listed command. The button name and location vary by extension.
- Wait for the capture to finish. Some extensions scroll through the page and join the captured sections; keep the tab visible if the extension’s instructions require it.
- Review the complete result, make any edits the extension supports, and save or export it in the format offered by that extension.
Inspect the image before using it
Check for repeated sticky headers, missing lazy-loaded images, incomplete content in independently scrolling panels, and sensitive information that should not be shared. Some pages load content only as you scroll; a capture may need time or interaction to reveal it. If the output is unexpectedly incomplete, try the browser’s built-in option or another compatible capture method.

Browser restrictions and long pages
Restrictions and capture behavior vary by extension. The Mozilla Add-ons listing for Full Page Screenshot & Webpage to PDF says that its capture scrolls and joins screenfuls, requires the tab to remain visible, cannot capture some browser-internal or add-on pages, and may split very tall screenshots because of browser limits. Those are limitations stated for that add-on, not a description of every extension. Its listing identifies version 1.0.2 and an update date of August 16, 2026; check the current listing because versions and availability can change.
Review privacy details for the tool you use
Mozilla’s Firefox Screenshots help page says Firefox collects some interaction events, such as use of the Copy or Save full page button, but not the URL or details of the captured image; it also describes a settings route for disabling relevant data collection. That disclosure applies to Firefox Screenshots, not to third-party add-ons. Read each extension’s own permissions and privacy information before capturing pages that contain confidential or personal data.

Troubleshoot common capture problems
- The screenshot stops at the visible viewport: confirm that you chose a full-page option rather than a regular screenshot. Extension controls differ, so check the listing or its instructions for the precise command.
- The extension cannot capture the page: try an ordinary website rather than a browser settings, internal or add-on page. Some browser-restricted pages cannot be captured by particular extensions.
- Parts of the page are missing: wait for the page to load, scroll to reveal lazy-loaded content, then capture again. Check whether the extension requires its tab to remain visible.
- Headers or sections repeat: inspect the output for sticky elements or scroll-and-stitch seams. Try Firefox’s built-in full-page capture or a different compatible method if the result is unsuitable.
- A very tall capture is split: browser limits may affect some extensions’ output. Save the pieces if useful, or use a different capture route for that page.
- You cannot find or install the extension: verify the browser and version named in the official store listing and check whether the listing is currently available for your browser.
