To automatically screenshot a webpage URL submitted in Google Forms, create a short-answer URL question, then build a Zap with Google Forms’ New Form Response trigger and a screenshot action. Zapier currently lists integrations for ScreenshotOne and Screenshot API. Map the form’s URL answer into the action’s Website URL or URL/Website field, choose capture settings, and test the workflow with the kinds of pages respondents will submit.
Set up the Google Form to collect a webpage URL
- Create a short-answer question. Label it clearly, such as “Page URL to screenshot,” and ask respondents to enter a complete webpage address. A text answer is the straightforward choice when the goal is to capture a webpage, rather than receive an image file.
- Publish and share the form. Configure the form’s responder access and response settings, then share it with the intended respondents. Google’s guidance covers publishing and sharing forms at Publish & share your form with responders.
- Submit a test response. Enter a representative URL so Zapier can retrieve a sample answer when you configure the trigger.
Google Forms lets you review responses in Forms or save them to a linked Google Sheet; the Sheet can be useful for inspecting submissions, but it is not required for the Zapier response trigger. See Google’s response-saving options.

Build the Zap and map the submitted URL
- In Zapier, create a Zap and choose Google Forms as the trigger app.
- Select New Form Response, connect the account, and choose the form that contains the URL question.
- Test the trigger. Confirm that the sample response includes the answer to “Page URL to screenshot.”
- Add a screenshot action. Zapier currently lists Google Forms integrations for ScreenshotOne and Screenshot API.
- In the action’s required URL field, insert the mapped answer from the form. Depending on the selected app and current action, the field may be called Website URL or URL/Website.
- Choose the output and rendering options, test the action with the sample response, then turn on the Zap when the result is suitable.
The Zapier listings establish that these trigger/action pairings are available in the integration catalog; they do not guarantee that every account can use every app or that every submitted webpage can be rendered. The live Zap editor is the definitive place to confirm current action fields and choices.

Set options according to what the screenshot needs to show. The current ScreenshotOne action listing includes full-page capture, viewport dimensions, delays, and related rendering controls. The Screenshot API listing includes output format, full-page capture, dimensions, delay, and other rendering controls. Exact fields may change, so check the action in your Zap editor.
#1 Best Overall
- 14" diagonal, 1366x768 resolution, HD BrightView LED, Glossy NON-TOUCH Display
- Full page or viewport: Use full-page capture when you need content beyond the initially visible screen. Use a viewport capture when a fixed-size view is the intended evidence.
- Dimensions: Set the viewport to match the view you need to inspect or archive.
- Delay: If the page renders content after its initial load, a delay may give it time to appear. Test rather than assuming the same wait suits every site.
- Output format: Select from the formats exposed by the chosen action, based on how the next step will use the image.
Inspect the action’s test output and decide how to keep a durable copy. The integration listings do not establish the output or retention behavior for every configuration: check whether your action returns a file, a link, or another result, and connect a storage destination if the screenshot must be retained.
Validate the workflow with realistic submissions
Test more than one ordinary public page before relying on the Zap. Include dynamic pages if respondents are likely to submit them, and confirm that the screenshot contains the expected content and that the next step receives a usable result. A service must be able to render the submitted target; do not assume private, login-gated, blocked, or otherwise restricted pages will work.
Also verify current service and Zapier plan eligibility, usage limits, and result handling in the live products before depending on the workflow. The cited integration listings do not settle those details.
Troubleshooting common problems
The URL answer is missing in the screenshot action
Retest the Google Forms trigger using a submission that answered the URL question. Then reopen the screenshot action’s field mapping and select the actual answer field from the trigger output. If you changed the form after configuring the Zap, refresh or retest the trigger so Zapier can load the current response fields.

The action runs, but the screenshot is blank or incomplete
Check that the mapped value is the intended webpage URL, then test that target directly and review the screenshot action’s delay, viewport, and full-page settings. Dynamic content may need a longer delay; some pages may not be accessible to the rendering service.
The screenshot is returned, but you cannot find a retained image
Inspect the action test output to see what it returns, then add a storage step if you need a persistent copy. The integration listing does not establish that every action configuration stores screenshots automatically.
The form asks people to sign in or rejects a submission
Review the form’s responder and response settings. For this workflow, ask for the URL as text rather than using a file-upload question. Google notes that file-upload questions can require sign-in and have restrictions; see Google’s file-upload troubleshooting guidance.

ScreenshotNeo can take a screenshot from one GET request, which can be called in a Zapier webhook step or another HTTP-capable workflow. It removes cookie/consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, with response headers indicating the page verdict and billing status. ScreenshotNeo also has an MCP server with tools for AI agents, including Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
To call it from an HTTP-capable step, pass your ScreenshotNeo access key and map the submitted URL into the request’s url parameter. This cURL example uses Stripe as the target; replace it with the URL answer from your form. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request details.

Which screenshot action should you use?
Zapier currently lists both ScreenshotOne and Screenshot API for this Google Forms workflow, but the available evidence does not establish a winner. Compare the current action fields and test representative submitted URLs before choosing. If you prefer a direct API call rather than one of those listed actions, ScreenshotNeo is an alternative with clean captures and billing that excludes failed or unrenderable results; its API and free signup are linked above.

Do I need to save Google Forms responses to a Sheet for this Zap?
No. Zapier’s listed trigger is Google Forms’ New Form Response; a linked Sheet is optional for inspecting or organizing responses.
Can this workflow screenshot a page that requires a login?
Do not assume it can. Test the actual target pages; the integration listings do not promise access to private or restricted pages.
