To capture a website at a 375 × 667 mobile viewport, set the browser’s viewport width to 375 pixels and height to 667 pixels, then capture the visible viewport—not the full page. In Chrome, use DevTools’ Device Toolbar; for repeatable automated captures, set Playwright’s viewport before navigating. These dimensions are CSS pixels, so the exported image may have different physical pixel dimensions if device scaling is applied.
Capture a 375 × 667 viewport in Chrome DevTools
- Open the page in Chrome.
- Open DevTools from the Chrome menu: More tools > Developer tools.
- Turn on the Device Toolbar and choose Responsive in its dimensions selector.
- Enter 375 for width and 667 for height.
- Wait for the page layout, fonts, and images to settle.
- In the Device Toolbar, open More options and choose Capture screenshot to save the visible viewport. Choose Capture a full size screenshot only if you want the full scrollable page.

Viewport dimensions are not always image dimensions
The 375 × 667 setting describes the browser’s CSS-pixel viewport. The saved bitmap can be larger if capture uses device-pixel scaling. Playwright supports CSS-scale and device-scale output; device scale can produce more image pixels than the CSS viewport size.
If a downstream system requires a file that is exactly 375 × 667 physical pixels, inspect the saved image dimensions. Adjust the capture scale or resize or crop afterward only if that preserves the content you need. Do not confuse a page-viewport image with a screenshot of the full browser window, which can include browser chrome and desktop UI.

Common problems and fixes
- The layout still looks like desktop: confirm Device Toolbar is on, the selector says Responsive, and both width and height fields show 375 and 667. Reload after setting the dimensions if the page has not adapted.
- The screenshot includes content below the fold: you selected Capture a full size screenshot or used Playwright’s
fullPage: true. Use the ordinary viewport capture instead. - The image file is not 375 × 667 pixels: check whether the capture used device-pixel scale. The viewport is measured in CSS pixels; inspect the bitmap and select an appropriate scale or resize if exact raster dimensions are required.
- Fonts, images, or layout are incomplete: wait for the page to finish rendering before the manual capture. In automation, wait for the relevant content or a page-specific readiness condition rather than capturing immediately after navigation.
