Dismiss the banner using the option the website displays, then take a screenshot with your iPhone’s hardware buttons. In Safari, you can capture either the visible screen or, where available, the full webpage and save it as an image or PDF.
Dismiss the cookie banner first
- Open the website in Safari and wait for the page to load.
- Use the control shown on that site’s banner to dismiss it. The wording and choices vary by website; there is no single banner button that applies to every site.
- Position the page where you want the screenshot. Turn the iPhone to landscape if that makes more of the webpage visible.
There is no need to clear Safari history, cookies, or website data to take a screenshot. Those are separate browser-data controls and can affect sign-ins, permissions, or site features.
Take a screenshot of the visible screen
Use the button combination that matches your iPhone’s hardware:

- iPhone with Face ID: quickly press and release the Side button and Volume Up button together.
- iPhone with a Home button: quickly press and release the Side button and Home button together.
After capture, open the screenshot preview or editing tools if you want to crop, annotate, or share it. Apple’s interface differs by iOS version: iOS 26 provides quick tools after capture, while iOS 18 and earlier show a temporary thumbnail at the lower left. Screenshots are saved in Photos by default.
Capture the full webpage in Safari
Choose a full-page capture if you need content below the portion currently visible on screen. Apple’s iPhone screenshot guide documents this option for Safari.

- Choose Save to Photos for an image, or Save PDF to Files for a PDF.
Use a regular screenshot when you only need the current viewport; use Full Page when the additional webpage content matters. Apple documents image saving to Photos and PDF saving to Files as separate output choices.

Common problems
- The screenshot preview disappears: In iOS 18 and earlier the thumbnail is temporary. Open it promptly to edit, or find the saved screenshot in Photos.
- The button combination does not work: Check whether your iPhone has Face ID or a Home button, then use the corresponding combination above. Press and release the buttons quickly.
- The banner remains on the page: Use the controls actually offered by that website. Apple’s screenshot instructions do not specify a universal way to dismiss site banners.
- Full Page is not shown: The documented full-page workflow is for Safari. Check that you are editing the screenshot taken in Safari; a screenshot of only the visible screen remains an option.
- A site stops working after changing cookie settings: Cookie blocking or removing website data can interfere with sign-in or site features. These changes are not required for capturing a screenshot.
