Use chromedp to open the page in Chrome, wait for its Hindi content and fonts to be ready, then call chromedp.FullScreenshot for a full-page PNG. The browser environment—not chromedp alone—determines whether Devanagari glyphs render correctly, so inspect the saved image in the same environment you use to capture it.
Capture a full-page Hindi webpage as a PNG
Install chromedp in a Go module, replace the example URL with the Hindi page you want, and run this program. It navigates to the page, captures the full page, and writes the returned bytes to hindi-page.png.

For an element capture, replace the full-page action in the program with chromedp.Screenshot("main", &image, chromedp.NodeVisible). Change main to a selector that matches the target page. The element screenshot API also supports a scale factor through ScreenshotScale.
Make sure Hindi text is ready to render
chromedp drives Chrome; it does not provide a universal Hindi font or guarantee Devanagari output on every machine. The page’s CSS and font resources, along with the browser environment, determine how the glyphs appear.

- Check the capture environment. Confirm that its Chrome installation can render Devanagari, particularly if Chrome runs in a minimal container.
- Wait for application content and fonts. Navigation completion does not necessarily mean a client-rendered page or web font is ready. Add a page-specific readiness condition for the content or font-dependent state you need.
- Inspect the actual output. Open the saved image and check that Hindi letters display correctly in the runtime used for capture.
The chromedp references document the screenshot operations and headless execution, but do not prescribe a Hindi font package or certify Devanagari rendering across environments. Treat font installation as environment-specific rather than a chromedp setting.

Set viewport and device emulation deliberately
Use chromedp.EmulateViewport when the capture needs particular viewport dimensions or device behavior. Its API notes that the default behavior forces landscape orientation and disables mobile and touch emulation unless options are supplied.

Be aware that chromedp.FullScreenshot overrides device emulation settings. If later actions in the same browser context depend on the intended emulated device state, restore that state after the full-page capture.
Run chromedp headlessly
For headless deployment, the chromedp README points to the chromedp/headless-shell image, which contains a headless Chrome build chromedp can locate by default. Check the image and browser version used in your deployment: browser behavior and image contents can change.

Troubleshoot common capture problems
- Hindi letters are missing or appear as boxes: Check Devanagari support in the actual Chrome environment and confirm the page’s font resources loaded. The screenshot API does not install or select a Hindi font for you.
- Text or page sections are absent: The application may render them after navigation or load fonts asynchronously. Wait for a page-specific selector or other readiness condition before capturing.
- The image is only the visible screen: Use
chromedp.FullScreenshotfor the full page;chromedp.CaptureScreenshotcaptures the viewport. - The image format is unexpected:
FullScreenshotquality100selects PNG; other quality values select JPEG. The element screenshot action produces PNG. - Emulation changes after a full-page shot:

No. Devanagari rendering depends on the Chrome environment and the page’s CSS and font resources; chromedp does not supply a universal Hindi font.
