Whether your Galaxy A14 has Samsung’s built-in Screen recorder depends on the device variant and software. Samsung’s general supported-model list does not include the A14, so check your own phone before following the built-in steps. If the control is available, you can start a recording from Quick settings; if it is not, Samsung’s general guidance is to look for a screen-recording app in the Play Store or Galaxy Store.
Check whether your Galaxy A14 has Screen recorder
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick settings and look for Screen recorder. If it is not visible, open the Quick settings edit controls and check whether you can add it. You can also search Settings for Screenshots and screen recordings.

Samsung’s general support page does not list the Galaxy A14 among the models it identifies as supporting the feature. Reports from A14 owners describe a missing recorder, but they do not establish whether every A14 variant, market, or software version lacks it. Check the specific phone rather than assuming universal support or lack of support.
Record your screen if the built-in control is available
- Open the app or screen you want to capture.
- Swipe down from the top to open Quick settings. On One UI 7, Samsung says to swipe down from the upper-right for Quick settings; the notification panel uses a separate gesture unless the panels are combined.
- Tap Screen recorder.
- Choose the available recording options, such as audio capture and whether to show touches. Depending on the device and software, options may also include recording the full screen or a selected area.
- Tap Start recording. Samsung’s guide describes a three-second countdown; some software versions may let you skip it.
- Use the recording toolbar to pause, resume, or stop. The toolbar’s location and appearance can vary by software version.
Choose recording options
To review or adjust settings, open Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recordings. Samsung documents options such as audio, video quality, video size, and showing taps. The choices and their exact labels can differ by device and software.

Find and manage the recording
Completed recordings appear in Gallery in the Screen recordings folder. Samsung gives the default file location as Internal storage > DCIM > Screen recordings; the save location may be changeable in settings.
If Screen recorder is missing
- Check the Quick settings edit controls in case the button is available but not currently shown.
- Search Settings for Screenshots and screen recordings.
- Check the exact model number and the phone’s Android and One UI versions under Settings > About phone and the software information screen. Menu wording may vary.
- If the feature is not supported on your device, Samsung’s general guidance is to use a screen-recording app from the Play Store or Galaxy Store. Review the specific app’s compatibility, permissions, and privacy information before installing it; Samsung’s guidance does not endorse a particular app.
Software changes can affect the interface over time. Samsung’s update history for the Galaxy A14 5G SM-A146U documents updates for that specific model, but does not establish whether Screen recorder is available on every A14.

Why some content will not record
Samsung warns that copyright protection can block recording from some photos, videos, apps, and websites. If a protected screen appears blank or does not capture, the restriction may be intentional; do not try to bypass content protection.

Samsung’s support article states that Android 10 with One UI 2.5 limits screen recordings to one hour or 4 GB. It says Android 11 with One UI 3.0 or later has no file-size or recording-time limit. These are general statements about those software versions, not A14-specific performance guarantees.
