To track an Indian product price daily, either set up a managed page monitor with a daily schedule or run a Playwright script from a scheduler once a day. In either case, verify the checking location and confirm the screenshot shows the intended product, currency, variant, availability, and price before treating a change alert as a reliable price record.
Choose a managed monitor or your own browser script

A screenshot difference is not, by itself, a validated price change. The page could show a different variant, currency, delivery region, or availability state, or the price area may not have loaded. Review the image before logging a price.

Set up a daily monitor with Visualping
- Add the product page. Start with a publicly accessible page for the exact product and variant you intend to track.
- Select the page or price area. Monitor the whole page if necessary, or select the section containing the displayed price and availability when the service allows it.
- Describe the change precisely. For example, specify that you want to know when the displayed product price decreases. - Manually validate an initial alert. Before relying on a change as a tracking entry, make sure it reflects the intended Indian storefront, currency, delivery region, login state, and product variant.
Run a daily screenshot with Playwright
Playwright can capture the page, but the screenshot call does not create a recurring schedule or a ready-made alert service. Run the script using an external scheduler on a computer or hosted runtime that remains available at the chosen time.

This basic script captures what has rendered after the initial DOM load; a retailer may populate the price later with JavaScript. If so, wait for a known price element or add a bounded delay before capture, then verify the result manually. Avoid waiting for network idle as a universal fix: pages with continuing background requests may never become idle.

Schedule it once a day
Use the scheduler available on the machine running the script. On a Unix-like system with cron, for example, this runs at 09:00 according to the machine’s local time:

Keep comparisons meaningful
- Use the same viewport, browser, operating system, and capture settings each day. Playwright notes that visual rendering can vary with the operating system, browser version, settings, hardware, and headless mode. Playwright visual comparisons
- Include a date or timestamp in each filename and decide how long to keep screenshots so storage does not grow indefinitely.
- For alerts, compare the captured images or use Playwright’s documented screenshot comparison features in its test runner. The simple capture script above only saves an image; it does not notify you when the price changes.
- Keep the capture environment and page state consistent. Login state, location, cookies, and product selection can change what is displayed.
Make sure the screenshot reflects an Indian price
A check’s network location may affect the content a site serves. Visualping’s documented default is a US (California) IP, with other checking locations available; neither its cited help material nor the cited Playwright documentation establishes how a particular Indian retailer responds to a given location or guarantees a particular displayed price. Check the actual output instead of assuming that a location setting determines the result.
- Confirm the page is the intended Indian storefront and the amount is in the expected currency.
- Check delivery region or PIN-code selection, logged-in state, and product variant. These may affect the price or availability shown.
- Keep the product identity and price area visible in the capture. A notification about a visual change can reflect a banner, layout shift, or other page update rather than a price movement.
- Respect the site’s access rules. Do not try to bypass access controls or bot protections.
Troubleshoot missed or misleading captures

Costs, reliability, and what the screenshot can prove
A managed monitor reduces the browser and scheduling work, but you still need to validate location, page state, and alert meaning. A self-hosted Playwright script offers control over capture and storage, but the scheduler, runtime, browser installation, failures, and retention are yours to operate. The cited Playwright documentation describes screenshot capture and visual comparison, not a universal daily scheduler or guaranteed retailer compatibility.
Neither a screenshot nor a visual alert proves that a price is available to every buyer or will remain available at checkout. Treat the image as evidence of what the page displayed at capture time, and record any needed context—such as variant, currency, delivery area, and time—alongside it.
