For a finished recording, use Restream’s Pre-recorded livestream workflow—not Studio event scheduling. Choose or upload the video, set the event details, enable your YouTube channel, and create the event; Restream says playback begins automatically at the scheduled time. Studio scheduling is for a production you enter and start yourself.
Schedule a pre-recorded video as a YouTube live event

Sign in to Restream and select + New Stream.

Choose Pre-recorded livestream, then select Video.

Select a video already in Uploads or Recordings, or upload a file from your computer or mobile device. Continue after selecting the video.

Enter the event title, description, date, and time. Depending on the options shown in your account, you can also enable looping (up to 10 replays), create an advance event post, and add a custom thumbnail. Restream’s July 25, 2026 explainer describes the 10-replay loop limit.

Continue, turn on the YouTube channel you want to use (and any other desired destinations), then create the event.

The recording is scheduled to air automatically at the chosen time. If you want to monitor chat, open the live event in Restream while it is airing.
Restream’s current guidance says video uploads are available to its users, but file-size and storage limits depend on the account’s tier or add-on. Check the limits shown in your account before uploading; older quota figures may no longer apply. Restream also describes importing through Descript, Google Drive, and Dropbox, and scheduling either one video or a playlist. Restream’s pre-recorded event instructions explain the current workflow.
What “in Restream Studio” means
The wording can be confusing because a recorded video and a Studio production use different event flows. A pre-recorded event broadcasts a selected file automatically. A Studio event is a live production that you enter and start manually; scheduling a Studio event does not make an uploaded recording play automatically.

Schedule a Studio production instead

Choose New Stream → Studio and set up the production.

Select Schedule and enter the event details.

When it is time to broadcast, open the scheduled event’s card and enter the Studio from that card. Then select Go Live.
Entering through the scheduled event card matters: Restream says this connects the Studio broadcast to the intended event. See Restream’s scheduling instructions and Studio setup guidance.

Choose the right YouTube outcome

YouTube distinguishes scheduled live events from scheduled video publication. A live event can appear as upcoming and let viewers set reminders; a scheduled video is an ordinary upload set to publish later. Check the date and time carefully: Restream’s instructions call for selecting a date and time but do not specify how its interface handles time zones. Verify the displayed schedule in your account rather than assuming a particular conversion.

Check file limits in your account: Upload size and storage depend on tier or add-on, so do not rely on old plan quotas.

Review platform-side event posts if you change plans: Restream says an advance post on YouTube or another supported platform is not automatically removed when you unschedule the Restream event. Check YouTube separately if you cancel or change the schedule.

Allow time to monitor if needed: The pre-recorded event is described as starting automatically, but you can open it in Restream while it airs to monitor chat.

Restream lists YouTube among destinations that support advance event posts. Its documentation also notes that some other destinations may require a manual start; that caveat should not be applied to YouTube without checking the specific event instructions.
