To keep a Threads post for later, save it. To send someone to the original post, share its link or share it to Instagram Stories. To reuse how the post looks as an image, Threads on the web can copy the rendered post image—but Meta does not describe this as downloading the original photo attachment.
Choose the action that matches what you need

Save a post to revisit it
Use Threads’ save feature on the post you want to keep. On the web, Meta says saved posts are accessible through the main menu. The announcement does not specify current mobile controls or describe every account or privacy condition, so check the menu in your version of Threads rather than relying on a device-specific tap sequence.

Share a post with its context
Share the post as a link when you want someone to open the Threads post, including its context on the platform. You can also share a post to Instagram Stories. Meta’s sources confirm these options, but do not provide a dependable set of current button names for every app version.

- Open Threads on the web and locate the post.
- Use the option to copy the post as an image.
- Paste the copied image into Instagram or another app that accepts images.
Meta announced this web feature on April 24, 2025, describing it as an alternative to using a screenshot. It copies the post’s rendered appearance; the announcement does not say it downloads the original photo uploaded with the post. If you need the original image file, this feature is not documented as a way to get it.

Saving or sharing a post is not sharing a custom feed
Sharing a custom feed is a separate action from saving or sharing an individual post. Meta says a public custom feed can be shared by link or direct message. Those instructions apply to a feed, not to an individual post. Meta’s custom-feeds announcement
What the image feature does—and does not establish
Meta’s April 24, 2025 announcement says: “Copy a Threads post as an image, instead of using a screenshot, so you can include them in posts on Instagram and other apps.” This supports copying a post as an image on Threads web. It does not establish that the feature downloads the original photo attachment, nor does it document identical availability across devices, accounts, or regions.
