The PDF is a snapshot of what appeared when you saved it; it will not update if the live PNR status changes.
Save the live PNR status page from a browser
First check the PNR through IRCTC’s official service. IRCTC’s General Services Administration Guide describes entering the PNR and selecting the status action to display booking and current-status details. Confirm that the displayed PNR and status are the ones you want to retain before printing.

Desktop Chrome on Windows, Linux, or Mac
- Open IRCTC’s official PNR enquiry page and submit the PNR.
- Check the displayed PNR and status details.
- Open the print dialog: choose File > Print, press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or press Command+P on Mac.
- In the print dialog, select the PDF destination shown by your operating system, usually Save as PDF. Review the preview and settings, then save the file to a private folder.
- Open the saved PDF and verify that the status, date, and other details you need are visible and fit on the page.
Google documents Chrome’s desktop print entry points and shortcuts in its Chrome printing help. The exact wording and location of the PDF destination can vary by operating system.

- Open the PNR status page in Chrome and check its contents.
- Tap More > Share > Print.
- Choose Save as PDF, inspect the preview, select a save location, and save.
- Open the file from that location to confirm it is readable.

Safari on iPhone
- Open the PNR page in Safari and confirm the details.
- Tap Share, then choose Markup.
- Tap Done, choose Save File To, name the PDF, and select a location in Files.
- Open the saved PDF and check the result.

When the IRCTC app’s PDF is enough
The IRCTC Rail Connect Android app guide shows a PDF icon on the ticket details screen and says, “Tap here to save your ticket details in mobile device as PDF.” That is an alternative record of ticket details; it should not be treated as a guaranteed capture of the live PNR status webpage. Choose the right record and protect it
Use a browser PDF when you specifically need a snapshot of the status webpage. Use the app’s ticket-details PDF when the ticket record is what you need. Before sharing either file, inspect what it contains: an IRCTC PDF may include the PNR, journey details, or passenger information. IRCTC’s privacy policy discusses traveller information provided through accounts, including information about other travellers booked through an account.

- Share it only with people who need the information.
- If you need to prove one status detail, check the print preview for personal information that is unnecessary to share.
Troubleshooting
The PDF is blank or missing the status
Return to the live page and confirm the status has loaded before opening print preview. If the preview still omits it, use the browser’s print workflow again after the page displays the needed details.

The content is cut off or difficult to read
Inspect the preview before saving. If the relevant information does not fit, adjust the available print settings and review the preview again. Reopen the saved PDF to confirm the final file, rather than relying only on the dialog preview.
You cannot find the saved file
During the save step, note the folder or Files location you selected. If you have not saved yet, return to the print dialog and explicitly choose a destination and filename.

The saved status no longer matches the live status
A PDF is a fixed snapshot, not a live connection to IRCTC. Check the official enquiry page again for current status, and create a new PDF if you need a newer record.
