To remove the date, URL, and page numbers added by your browser, open the webpage’s print preview, turn off its Headers and footers setting, choose a PDF destination, check the preview, and save. This setting removes browser-generated print metadata—not banners, ads, or navigation that are part of the webpage.
Turn off headers and footers in Firefox

Open the webpage and open print preview. You can use Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on macOS.

Set the destination to Save to PDF.

Expand More settings and turn off Print headers and footers.

Review the preview, then save the PDF.
Firefox’s other print controls include paper size, scale, pages per sheet, margins, format, two-sided printing, and print backgrounds. When Simplified format is available, it can reduce page clutter; Mozilla notes that choosing it prevents selecting Print backgrounds. Webpages can lay out differently on paper than on screen, so check the preview before saving. Mozilla’s Firefox printing instructions describe these options.

Open the webpage, then choose Settings and more > Print. You can also use Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on macOS.

Choose the PDF destination offered by your system or browser, inspect the preview, and save.
When enabled, Edge’s setting adds the current date in the header and a page number in the footer. The destination’s exact label can vary with the operating system and available print destinations. Background graphics is a separate option: it controls webpage backgrounds, not browser-added headers or footers. For clutter-free printing, Microsoft suggests Immersive Reader as a workaround when the feature is available for that website. See Microsoft’s Edge printing instructions.

What this setting removes—and what it does not
The checkbox affects metadata the browser adds to printed pages, such as a date, URL, or page number. It does not remove a site’s own title, navigation, advertisement, consent banner, or other page content. To reduce that clutter, use a browser’s reader or simplified format if the page supports one, or use a site’s print-friendly view. Firefox’s Simplified option is not available on every page; Edge’s Immersive Reader may also be unavailable on some websites.
Background graphics are independent of headers and footers. Turn backgrounds on or off according to whether you want the webpage’s colors and imagery in the PDF; changing that option will not remove browser metadata.
Check these settings if the PDF still looks wrong

The date, URL, or page number is still there: confirm that you changed the browser’s Headers and footers setting in print preview. A separate operating-system print dialog may have different labels or controls.

The setting is missing or cannot be changed: a work or school administrator may control it. Google documents Chrome policies that can force or prevent headers and footers on ChromeOS and Chrome for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Microsoft’s Edge PrintHeaderFooter policy likewise lets an administrator control whether users can print them. If the control is fixed or unavailable on a managed device, ask the administrator; the user may not be able to override the policy. The page content differs from the live site: compare the preview’s format, margins, scale, and background setting. Printed layouts can differ from the on-screen page.

There is still a banner, ad, or navigation: that is webpage content, not a browser header or footer. Try a reader or simplified view if available, or use a print-specific view from the site.

You see different options after opening a system print dialog: return to the browser preview and set its headers-and-footers option there. Edge also provides a route to the system dialog, whose options may differ.
