Save Page WE does not export webpages as PDFs. It saves a page as a single HTML file. To make a PDF in Firefox, use Firefox’s built-in Save to PDF print destination, or use the related Print Edit WE extension if you want to remove or edit page elements before saving. Print Edit WE’s PDF export is available only in Firefox.

Save a webpage as PDF in Firefox
Use Firefox’s built-in print-to-PDF option
- Open the webpage in Firefox and open the browser’s print interface.
- In the print panel, set Destination to Save to PDF.
- Adjust options such as orientation, pages, paper size, scale, margins, and headers or footers.
- Review the preview, then click Print and choose where to save the PDF.
Check the preview before saving: a website can use print-specific styles, so its PDF may not look like the page on screen. Mozilla describes this behavior in its Firefox printing guide.
Edit the page first with Print Edit WE
- Open the page in Firefox. Start Print Edit WE from its toolbar button, or right-click the page and choose Print Edit WE > Start Editing.
- Optionally hide, delete, format, or edit page elements. Preview the edited page to check what will be included.
- Use Print Edit WE’s Save control and select Save As PDF.
- In the PDF setup panel, choose paper size, orientation, scale, background, content margins, and header/footer margins. Header and footer fields can include the page title, URL, date and time, or page number.
Print Edit WE describes editing page contents before printing or saving as HTML or PDF, but its Save As PDF feature is available only with Firefox. Its documentation also says Print Edit WE 26.1 or later is required for full compatibility with Save Page WE. Check the Print Edit WE listing and documentation for current compatibility details.

Save a webpage as HTML with Save Page WE
If you meant an offline webpage rather than a PDF, Save Page WE is the relevant tool. Its documented save actions create a single HTML file that can be opened in a browser. Click its toolbar button to save selected tabs, or use its context-menu actions to save a page or listed URLs. The default file extension is .html.
Save Page WE offers Basic, Standard, and Custom resource selections, as well as options related to lazy-loaded content and warnings or lists for unsaved resources. Which resources are included depends on the selected mode and the page. Cross-origin frame scripts are not saved. See the official Save Page WE documentation for the available actions and settings.

Browser and version notes
Save Page WE is listed for Firefox and Chrome, but Print Edit WE’s PDF export is Firefox-only. The Chrome Web Store listing displayed version 33.9, updated September 5, 2023, in the version information reviewed for this article; extension versions and browser interfaces can change. Common problems and fixes
- You cannot find a PDF option in Save Page WE: that extension saves HTML. Use Firefox’s print destination, or open Print Edit WE in Firefox and choose Save > Save As PDF.
- Print Edit WE does not offer Save As PDF: confirm that you are using Firefox; the PDF feature is documented as Firefox-only.
- The saved PDF differs from the screen: inspect the print preview and adjust scale, margins, orientation, or page range. Websites can define a print layout that differs from their screen layout.
- The offline HTML copy is missing content: check Save Page WE’s resource selection and its warnings or unsaved-resource list. Some resources may not be saved, and cross-origin frame scripts are never saved.
