On Android, you can save a webpage as a PDF in Chrome through More > Share > Print > Save as PDF, or in Firefox through Menu > Share > Save as PDF. The page must load online first, so this does not eliminate data use. If possible, open and save it on reliable Wi-Fi, then check the local PDF before disconnecting.
Choose a PDF or an offline webpage
Use a PDF when you need a file to keep, share or print. Chrome also lets you download a webpage for offline reading, but that saves a page for the browser rather than creating a PDF.

Google says you need to be online to save a Chrome offline page. The same practical constraint applies to making a PDF: the browser needs the page loaded to render it. Google Chrome Help: Download a page to read later.

Save a webpage as a PDF in Chrome for Android
- Connect to Wi-Fi if available, then open the webpage in Chrome and let the content you need load.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then Share.
- Choose Print.
- In the print interface, select Save as PDF.
- Choose a save location on the device and save the file.
- Open the saved PDF from that location or your phone’s Downloads/files interface and check it before going offline.

Save a webpage as a PDF in Firefox for Android
- Open the webpage in Firefox and allow the content you need to load.
- Tap the three-dot menu, then tap the Share icon.
- Choose Save as PDF.
- Tap Download in the prompt.
- When the save finishes, tap Open, or find the file under Menu > Downloads.
Mozilla says the completed PDF is saved in Downloads. Mozilla Support: Save web pages as PDF in Firefox for Android.
Reduce avoidable mobile-data use
- Save over Wi-Fi when practical. The browser must load the page, and its text, images, fonts and other resources may use mobile data. The official instructions do not give a typical data amount per page; usage depends on the content.
- Avoid repeated reloads. If you are using mobile data, let the page load once and save it without reopening or refreshing it unnecessarily.
- Check the file while still connected. Confirm it opens and includes the text and important images you need. The cited browser instructions do not promise that every dynamic element or embedded item will be preserved.
- Do not treat Data Saver as a zero-data switch. Google says background data behavior changes, but currently active apps and services can still use mobile data. Settings vary across Android versions and devices. Google Pixel Phone Help: Use less mobile data with Data Saver; Google Play Help: Find your Android version and update it.
Check the saved copy before relying on it
Open the PDF or downloaded page locally while you can still reconnect if something is missing. Check the particular details you need: text, images, tables or other visible content. A saved copy may not preserve every interactive or dynamic element, and these browser instructions do not guarantee complete capture on every website. If you need an exact or complete record, do not assume the PDF is a perfect substitute for the live page.

Troubleshooting
- You cannot find Print in Chrome: Start with More > Share and look for Print in the available share actions. Menu placement can vary by version or device.
- The PDF is not in Downloads: Chrome asks you to choose a save location, so check the location selected during saving. In Firefox, check Menu > Downloads.
- The PDF is incomplete: Reopen the live page while connected, allow the content you need to load, and save again. Verify the new local file before disconnecting; capture of all dynamic content is not guaranteed.
- The save option is unavailable or the page will not load: The page must be available online for the browser to render it. Try again when the connection is stable, or save over Wi-Fi if available.
- You only need offline reading: In Chrome, use its page-download option instead of the print workflow. That creates an offline webpage copy, not a PDF.
