In Microsoft Edge, open the page’s print dialog with Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on macOS, then review the print preview and settings before choosing the PDF destination available on your device. Edge’s menu route is Settings and more > Print. The exact destination and final save labels can vary by platform and Edge version.
Save a webpage as a PDF from Edge’s print dialog
- Open the webpage you want to keep.
- Open Edge’s print options with Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on macOS. Alternatively, select Settings and more > Print.
- Check the print preview. Adjust the layout and other settings until the pages are readable and include the content you need.
- Choose the PDF destination offered by your operating system or Edge version, then follow its prompts to name and save the file.
Microsoft’s instructions cover opening print options and adjusting the preview, but do not specify a universal PDF destination, filename field, or final save sequence. - Paper size and margins: Set the page dimensions and whitespace around the printed content.
- Scale: Change the size of the page content to improve fit and legibility.
- Pages: Select a page range when you do not need the entire printout.
- Headers and footers: Turn these on or off depending on whether you want the additional printed details.
- Background graphics: Enable this option if colors or other background visuals are missing from the preview or saved output. Microsoft notes that including background graphics can make print output more closely match the webpage.

Make a cleaner PDF with Immersive Reader
If a page is crowded with navigation or other surrounding material, Microsoft describes Immersive Reader as a way to create a more clutter-free printout. Availability depends on the website; the option may not appear for every page. When it is available, use it to simplify the page, then open print preview and check the result before saving. What to try if printing or preview fails
- The preview does not load: Retry, then restart Edge if the problem persists.
- Only one webpage fails: Test a different webpage or document. If the other page works, the issue may be specific to the site or document.
- Several pages fail: The cause may be Edge, Windows, connectivity, a printer driver, or hardware—not necessarily the webpage. Microsoft’s troubleshooting guide recommends narrowing down where the failure occurs and retrying or restarting Edge. Troubleshoot print issues in Microsoft Edge
- The PDF looks different from the website: Review the preview and settings, especially scale, margins, layout, and background graphics. Enable background graphics if visual backgrounds are missing.
Save the page versus print it to PDF
Edge lists Ctrl+S as a shortcut for saving the current page, but that is not the same as using the print dialog to create a PDF. For a PDF, start with the print workflow described above. Microsoft lists the save-page shortcut in its Edge keyboard shortcuts guide.
