In Chrome on Windows, open the page, press Ctrl+P, choose Save as PDF as the destination, check the preview, and save. A long page may become a PDF with several pages; inspect the preview rather than expecting one continuous sheet.
Save the page as a PDF in Chrome
- Open the webpage in Chrome and wait for the content you need to load. If the page has expandable sections or content that appears as you scroll, check those before printing.
- Press Ctrl+P to open print preview. Google’s desktop instructions list this shortcut for Windows and Linux. Google Chrome Help: Print from Chrome
- In the print window, choose Save as PDF in the destination control.
- Review the preview, including the final page. Check for missing content, awkward page breaks, and sections that did not load. Available settings and the result can vary by webpage.
- Click Save and choose a location if prompted.
What to expect from a long page
Chrome uses its ordinary print preview for this task. A long webpage can flow across multiple PDF pages; the official instructions do not promise a special one-page or infinite-scroll-to-single-sheet mode. Rendering depends on how the site presents its content and on the print settings available for that page. Do not assume every dynamic element, embedded media item, or lazy-loaded section will appear in the PDF.

If the preview is incomplete, first return to the page and confirm that the content has loaded. Check whether the website itself offers a print or download option. A site-specific workaround may help, but Chrome’s documentation does not establish one universal fix for pages that print incorrectly.

Save to your computer
Choose Save as PDF as the destination and save the file locally. On Windows 10 and later, Chrome lists Users<username>Downloads as the default download location if it has not been changed. You can change the download location or enable the option to ask where to save each file in Chrome’s download settings. Google Chrome Help: Download a file

Save to Google Drive
Google also documents saving from print preview to Drive using the Save to Google Drive extension. Install the extension, then select it as the destination; it may appear under See more. If you do not want to use the extension, save the PDF locally and upload it through the Drive website instead. Drive is optional for creating a local PDF. Google Chrome Help: Print from Chrome
Common problems and fixes
- The PDF is missing sections: Check whether the page finished loading before printing. Review the preview and see if the website provides its own print or download control.
- The long page spans several sheets: This can be normal. Inspect page breaks and available print settings before saving; Chrome does not document a universal single-sheet mode for long webpages.
- You cannot find the saved file: Check the location selected in the save prompt. If no different location was chosen, check the Downloads folder and Chrome’s download settings.
- You want the page, not a PDF: Chrome’s More tools → Save Page As is a separate webpage-download feature, not the same as choosing Save as PDF in print preview. Google Chrome Help: Download a file

For a screenshot rather than a paginated PDF, ScreenshotNeo can return a page capture from one API request. It removes cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and its free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. This is an alternative for image capture, not Chrome’s PDF workflow.
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation. For example, this cURL request saves a screenshot of the specified page:
