Choose the right way to save the GST information

“CaptureKit” refers to more than one product in the available listings. The Chrome extension and the separate browser-based webpage-to-PDF tool are not interchangeable; check the product name and its current export controls before proceeding.

Sign in to the GST Portal and open the page
- Go to the official GST Portal and sign in using your own credentials. Follow the portal’s login guidance and do not share provisional login details. The official GST Portal login help describes the login process.
- Navigate to the record, return, or webpage you want to preserve. If it is a record or summary, check for a portal download before capturing the page.
- Keep the page open while you decide which method to use. Whether a capture tool can access a particular authenticated GST page is not established by the product listings cited here.
Use the Chrome extension for a screenshot
The Chrome Web Store listing describes CaptureKit as a browser extension for full-page and selected-area screenshots, plus short tab recordings. It does not document direct PDF export, so do not assume that an image download from this extension is a PDF.
- Open the page you want to capture and click the CaptureKit extension icon in Chrome’s toolbar.
- Choose Full Page to capture the page or Selected Area to capture a portion. The listing also describes a Record Tab option for recording.
- Preview the result and download it using the extension’s available controls.
- If the required format is PDF, check whether your installed version offers a PDF export. If it does not, use browser printing or a distinct webpage-to-PDF tool instead.
The listing says some browser-internal pages, extension-store pages, and other protected pages cannot be captured because Chrome restricts extension access. That is a general limitation, not a verified finding about GST Portal pages.

Use a CaptureKit webpage-to-PDF tool, if that is the product you have
A separate CaptureKit browser tool listing advertises a Webpage to PDF feature using the browser’s native print engine. Its listing does not establish whether it works with authenticated GST Portal content. If you choose this route, open the exact tool, confirm that it offers webpage-to-PDF conversion, and follow its on-screen steps for the page you need.
Do not treat the browser-based PDF tool as a feature of the Chrome extension unless the controls in your installed extension explicitly show that option. After conversion, open the file and check that it contains the intended information and that the text is readable.

Save the webpage using browser printing
If CaptureKit does not provide PDF export for your page, use the browser’s print dialog. In Chrome, open the browser menu and choose Print (or press Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux or Command+P on macOS), then select Save as PDF as the destination and save the file. Other browsers have similar print-to-PDF options, though labels can differ.
- Review the print preview before saving; page breaks, headers, footers, and scaling can change what appears on each page.
- If the page is cut off or difficult to read, adjust the available layout, scale, margins, or page-range settings and preview again.
- Open the saved PDF to verify the relevant content, date or context, pagination, and legibility.
Check for a native GST Portal PDF first
Registration details
The GST registration guide says existing registration details can be downloaded as a PDF. If those details are what you need, a portal-generated document may be more appropriate than printing the whole webpage. See the official GST registration guide.

GSTR-1/IFF consolidated summary
The GSTR-1 guide describes a PDF download for a table-wise consolidated summary and notes that the described behavior applies from August 2024 return periods. This is a specific summary download, not a universal option for saving any GST Portal page. See the official GSTR-1 guide.
Troubleshoot capture and PDF problems
- The extension produces an image, not a PDF: its Chrome listing documents screenshot capture and download, not PDF export. Use browser Print → Save as PDF or a separate tool that explicitly offers webpage-to-PDF conversion.
- The extension cannot capture the page: Chrome restricts extensions on some protected or browser-internal pages. The listing does not confirm whether a GST page is affected. Try browser printing or a portal-provided download if available.
- The PDF tool cannot access the logged-in page: authenticated GST-page compatibility is not established for the separate CaptureKit browser tool. Use the browser’s own print dialog while the page is open, or download the relevant GST document directly from the portal.
- The PDF is incomplete or hard to read: inspect print preview and adjust pagination or scaling where available, then save again and open the resulting file to check it.
- You cannot find a PDF download: portal downloads apply to specific records and summaries, not necessarily every page. For a webpage view, use browser printing.
