Short answer: XSplit Broadcaster supports sending a broadcast to multiple outputs at once, but its documented workflow does not establish that one XSplit instance can send two different pre-recorded videos to two separate YouTube live events simultaneously. You can add a pre-recorded video or playlist to an XSplit scene and configure multiple outputs; do not assume each output can have its own video or YouTube event unless XSplit confirms that setup for your version.
First distinguish the three setups
- Multiple outputs: XSplit’s multistreaming guide describes sending broadcasts to multiple destinations, such as Facebook Live and YouTube Live. Configure each output, then start each one individually. XSplit says this feature requires Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle. XSplit Support: “Multistreaming to Different Platforms” (updated 10/11/2025).
- Two formats for one YouTube event: XSplit’s dual-format guide describes horizontal and vertical versions of the same event, using separate stream keys when the feature is available to the channel. This is not two independent programs. XSplit Support: YouTube dual-format streaming.
- Two independent YouTube events with different videos: This is the requested setup. The reviewed XSplit documentation does not confirm that a single instance can assign separate prerecorded media sources to separate YouTube events. Multiple outputs alone do not prove that it can.
Set up a pre-recorded video in XSplit
1. Add the video to a scene
In XSplit Broadcaster, create or select a scene, then add a Video File source for the recording. A scene is a layout containing sources. If you need multiple files to play continuously in one scene, use a Video Playlist source. These features let you use prerecorded media in a broadcast; they do not establish separate media assignment for each output. XSplit Support: adding sources

2. Configure the YouTube output
Use XSplit’s output setup to authorize the relevant account or enter the connection details YouTube requires. Depending on the output, properties can include authorization, stream key, server, codec, bitrate, frame rate, resolution, and network adapter. Check the output properties before going live; the settings available can differ by platform. XSplit Support: setting up broadcast outputs
3. Add documented multistream outputs
- In XSplit, open Broadcast > Set up a new output.
- Choose and configure the first destination, following its authorization or stream-connection prompts.
- Repeat the setup for each additional destination.
- When ready, start each configured output individually from the Broadcast menu.
This is XSplit’s documented multiple-destination workflow and requires Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle. It does not document assigning a different Video File or Video Playlist to each output, nor does it establish that the same YouTube account can run two independent live events in this arrangement. If you mean horizontal and vertical YouTube formats
XSplit documents a separate YouTube workflow for sending horizontal and vertical formats for one event. First check in YouTube Studio whether dual-format streaming is available to your channel. If it is, collect the stream URL and the horizontal and vertical stream keys, then configure XSplit’s YouTube output in Stream Key mode with those details and start the stream. Follow XSplit’s current guide for the exact fields and sequence; availability is channel-dependent. Two keys and two formats do not demonstrate two separate live events carrying different recordings. XSplit Support: YouTube dual-format streaming
Check bandwidth and output quality
Each active output adds demands to the computer’s encoding and network path. XSplit notes that higher bitrate can improve image quality but requires more upload bandwidth. Choose bitrate in relation to resolution, frame rate, and available upload speed, and use XSplit’s bandwidth check to assess whether the connection can support the selected bitrate. The documentation gives no universal upload-speed threshold or guaranteed simultaneous-stream count, so do not treat any single number as sufficient for every setup. When using an adapter, if the device is recognized as USB 2.0, try using the other side with the USB-C port. Simply flip the capture card and reconnect it to be recognized as USB 3.0
- Check resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate for every configured output.
- Confirm that the selected network adapter and internet connection are the ones you intend to use.
- Allow for the combined upload demand of simultaneously active outputs; a connection adequate for one may not be adequate for several.
- Test the scene and output before a scheduled event, especially if your goal depends on two different videos reaching two separate YouTube events.
What to do if you need two different programs
Do not treat the XSplit multistream feature as a confirmed way to run two separate prerecorded YouTube programs from one instance. The official sources reviewed explain multiple destinations and the separate dual-format workflow, but do not explain per-event source assignment for this scenario. Ask XSplit support whether your exact Broadcaster version and account setup can bind separate media sources and credentials to two YouTube events. If it cannot, use a separately verified workflow for each independent event rather than assuming one scene or output will isolate the programs.
Troubleshooting
An output will not start
- Recheck the destination authorization or stream URL and key in that output’s properties.
- Confirm that the output has been configured and then started from the Broadcast menu; XSplit’s documented flow treats setup and starting as separate actions.
- Verify that your license is Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle if you are using the multi-output feature.
The picture stutters, drops, or looks worse than expected
- Reduce bitrate or adjust resolution and frame rate to fit the available upload capacity.
- Run XSplit’s bandwidth check and verify the selected network adapter.
- Check the settings of each output rather than assuming one output’s configuration applies to all of them.
Both outputs show the same recording
That is consistent with using the same scene as the source for multiple destinations. The reviewed documentation does not establish independent scene or media assignment per YouTube output. Do not infer that adding another output creates a separate program.

You cannot find dual-format controls
Check whether YouTube Studio shows the feature for your channel, then follow XSplit’s dual-format guide. The guide makes feature access conditional; the existence of horizontal and vertical keys does not mean the feature is enabled for every channel.
