To run Malayalam devotional songs as a YouTube Live loop, first secure permission for the specific recordings and visuals, prepare a continuous video program, enable and schedule a YouTube live stream, then send it through an encoder and test it before going public. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches, so a playlist being available online—or a song being devotional—does not mean it is cleared for rebroadcast.
1. Clear the music and visuals before you build the loop
Use recordings and images you have permission to use in the planned live broadcast. If you want viewers to replay the stream afterward, check that permission also covers an archive; confirm territory, duration, livestream, archive, and monetization terms in writing.

A song’s composition and a particular recording can have different rights owners. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with the label or distributor when using copyright-protected music in a live stream. If the rights owner has licensed the material, YouTube Help advises asking that owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Without that step, an authorized stream may still be interrupted by Content ID.
YouTube Help says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can lead to a placeholder, interruption, or termination if it remains or a strike is issued. Do not assume that traditional, devotional, freely viewable, or widely shared music is automatically cleared.

2. Assemble a continuous audiovisual program
Put the Malayalam devotional audio and an authorized visual into a continuous program intended to play for the length of your broadcast. Keep the audio and picture stable, and avoid adding artwork, recordings, or other material you do not have rights to use. The exact method depends on the software you choose; YouTube’s guidance establishes the encoder workflow but does not prescribe a particular looping application, file format, or configuration.
3. Enable and schedule YouTube Live
- Enable live streaming in advance. For a first stream, verify your account with a phone number at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast, as YouTube for Artists advises.
- Create or schedule the event in YouTube Studio. Choose the encoder route when you are sending a prepared audiovisual program rather than streaming directly from a webcam or mobile device.
- Connect an encoder. YouTube describes desktop encoders as offering more customization and control than a simple mobile or webcam stream. Use the stream key and connection instructions shown in your YouTube live setup, and keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
You do not need to use YouTube’s API to do this. Its documented API lifecycle—create a broadcast, create or reuse a stream, bind them, test, then broadcast—is background for developers automating the process, not a requirement for ordinary creators.

4. Test, then monitor the live broadcast
Run an unlisted test before announcing or starting the public event, especially if the broadcast matters to an audience or has significant production effort behind it. Confirm in YouTube Studio that video and audio are arriving as intended. During the public stream, watch for warnings, restrictions, or copyright notices and respond to them; a Content ID match can interrupt the broadcast even when the underlying music is licensed but the channel has not been allowlisted.

If you want an archive after the live event, check your recording and playback choices before going live. In YouTube’s Live Streaming API workflow, recordFromStart and enableDvr govern recording and immediate playback after completion. Those settings do not guarantee that every broadcast will remain available: channel status, claims, settings, and other YouTube conditions can affect the outcome.

Equipment: use what you have first
A desktop computer capable of running an encoder is one valid option, but YouTube’s guidance does not establish minimum specifications or require buying a new machine. Try your existing computer first; consider an upgrade only if it cannot reliably run your chosen encoder and deliver the prepared program. A microphone, camera, mixer, or capture card is not established as necessary for a preassembled loop; those may matter for a different setup involving live singing or instruments.
Copyright permission and monetization are separate checks
Having permission to use music does not, by itself, establish that a repetitive loop qualifies for monetization. Review YouTube’s current monetization requirements for the channel and format, including its reused-content rules, separately from copyright clearance. YouTube for Artists describes live features such as ads, Supers, and shopping as subject to eligibility and platform rules; none is guaranteed simply because a stream is live.

YouTube for Artists reports that, on average, over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-level figure for that period, not a forecast of views for a Malayalam devotional stream.
