How to Run a 4K 60fps YouTube Live Video Loop on JioFiber

YouTube’s 4K60 H.264 recommendation is 35 Mbps of video bitrate. Check sustained upload on your exact JioFiber line, configure the encoder correctly, and test the loop before relying on it.

You can run a 4K 60fps YouTube Live loop over JioFiber only if the connection from your streaming device can sustain the encoder’s upload bitrate for the duration of the stream. YouTube’s English encoder guidance recommends 35 Mbps of video bitrate for H.264 at 4K60; the provider name or a plan’s advertised download speed does not establish that your line can reliably upload at that rate. Check your exact plan, measure sustained upload from the device you will stream with, and test the actual stream before relying on it.

What you need to know before setting up the loop

YouTube accepts live input at 4K/2160p and up to 60 fps. Your encoder sends the incoming video to YouTube; YouTube then transcodes live streams into different output formats. That does not guarantee that every viewer will receive 4K60 playback: the available quality depends on YouTube’s processing and the viewer’s device and connection.

For a 4K stream, YouTube says the low-latency option is unavailable, so use normal latency. The cited guidance is YouTube Help’s English page, accessed October 3, 2026; check the current guidance when configuring an encoder because recommendations can change. Check whether your JioFiber upload can sustain 4K60

Check the upload speed of the exact JioFiber plan available at your address, rather than inferring it from the plan name or its download speed. Jio’s official plan comparison page surfaced one example with 30 Mbps upload and 30 Mbps download. That example is below YouTube’s 35 Mbps H.264 video recommendation even before audio and connection variation; it is not a description of every JioFiber plan. Jio Fiber plans comparison

  1. Confirm the upload speed listed for your exact plan and address. Treat a plan’s advertised speed as a plan detail, not proof of the speed your streaming device will sustain continuously.
  2. Test upload performance from the computer or hardware encoder that will send the stream. Check at the times you expect the loop to run and consider whether other household activity will share the connection.
  3. Repeat the measurement and run a real stream test. A brief peak result does not establish that the line will stay stable over a long session. YouTube specifically recommends testing upload bitrate and testing the stream before going live.
  4. If upload varies or YouTube reports degraded stream health, reduce bitrate or resolution, improve the connection, or both, then test again. YouTube does not publish a JioFiber-specific minimum or a universal safety margin in the cited guidance, so there is no evidence-based fixed buffer to apply to every JioFiber customer.

Choose the encoder settings for 4K60

Use an encoder that supports the chosen codec and RTMPS. YouTube recommends RTMPS over RTMP where it is supported. The cited H.264 recommendation and the separate AV1 or H.265/HEVC range are not interchangeable quality guarantees: in particular, do not assume the bottom of the AV1/HEVC range will look equivalent to the H.264 recommendation.

Setting 4K60 value or guidance
Resolution and frame rate 3840×2160 at 60 fps
H.264 video bitrate 35 Mbps recommended by YouTube
AV1 or H.265/HEVC video bitrate 10–40 Mbps range in YouTube’s guidance; the lower end is not stated to provide picture quality equivalent to the H.264 recommendation
Rate control Constant bitrate (CBR)
Keyframe interval 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds
Audio for RTMP/RTMPS AAC or MP3; 128 Kbps stereo recommended
Ingestion protocol RTMPS recommended; RTMP is also listed
Latency Normal latency; low latency is unavailable for 4K

These are YouTube’s encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular JioFiber connection or computer can deliver them continuously. Set your encoder’s output to match the selected resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate and protocol, then validate it in a test. YouTube Help: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions

Configure and test a prerecorded video loop

  1. Prepare the source video. Confirm that you have the rights needed to use its video and audio in a public YouTube live stream. Check that the file plays correctly and that its resolution and frame rate suit the stream you intend to send.
  2. Set up the YouTube live stream. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the stream and copy its stream key. Keep the key private: anyone who has it may be able to send video to your stream. Paste it into the encoder’s YouTube stream-key field and select RTMPS when available.
  3. Configure the encoder. Set 3840×2160, 60 fps, the supported codec and its applicable bitrate guidance, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and AAC or MP3 stereo audio at the recommended 128 Kbps. The exact labels and controls depend on the encoder you use.
  4. Enable looping in your playback or encoding software. YouTube does not automatically repeat the source file. The loop must be configured in the software that plays and encodes it. Because the cited sources do not provide a software-specific infinite-loop recipe, check your chosen encoder’s current instructions and verify its loop behavior in the test.
  5. Run a nonpublic test. Use an unlisted or otherwise nonpublic test where possible, with the same video movement and audio planned for the real stream. Check Live Control Room’s stream health and encoder messages before leaving the stream unattended.
  6. Go public only after a clean test. Confirm that the video repeats as expected, audio is present, the selected 4K60 input is being received, and stream health remains stable. Monitor the stream when it starts; do not treat a short test as proof of indefinite reliability.

For another ingestion workflow, Google’s HLS guide describes M2TS media, H.264 or HEVC video, AAC audio, closed GOPs, and frame rates up to 60 fps. HLS is a distinct setup rather than a toggle that makes an RTMPS workflow more reliable. For a general encoder setup, RTMPS is the simpler default unless your chosen encoder specifically calls for HLS. Google for Developers: Delivering Live YouTube Content via HLS

Copyright and channel-policy checks for a loop

Before streaming a prerecorded video, make sure you have permission to use every video, music track, image, and other protected material in it. A live loop is still a YouTube upload; repeating a recording does not make copyrighted content yours or exempt it from claims or enforcement. Review YouTube’s current copyright requirements and channel policies for your specific material rather than assuming that permission to watch or download a video includes permission to broadcast it.

Also consider whether a repeated stream provides original value for your channel. Reused or repetitive material can raise monetization-policy concerns even when the stream itself is technically working. Review the current terms that apply to your channel and content before building a channel strategy around a continuous loop.

Troubleshoot common 4K60 loop problems

  • YouTube stream health is poor or the stream disconnects: the available upload may be unstable or insufficient for the configured bitrate. Check upload from the streaming device, reduce bitrate or resolution, avoid competing network use where practical, and rerun the test.
  • The encoder cannot sustain 4K60: confirm that the encoder and hardware support the selected resolution, frame rate and codec. The cited sources do not establish minimum computer specifications, so test the equipment you actually plan to use rather than relying on an assumed hardware requirement.
  • The stream is not 4K60 for viewers: distinguish the encoder’s incoming settings from YouTube’s processed playback options. Check the encoder output and allow for YouTube processing; viewer playback also depends on the viewer’s device and connection.
  • The video plays once and stops: looping is controlled by the playback or encoding software, not automatically by YouTube. Enable repeat in that software and verify a complete repeat in a test.
  • There is no audio or the audio is unstable: check that the source has an audio track, that the encoder is sending AAC or MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS, and that stereo audio is configured as intended. YouTube recommends 128 Kbps stereo audio.
  • The stream does not connect: verify that the correct stream key is entered, that it has not been replaced, and that the encoder uses a supported protocol. Prefer RTMPS where supported, and keep the key private.
  • Viewers report delay: 4K uses normal latency according to the cited YouTube guidance; the low-latency option is unavailable at this resolution.
