Gyre says the playlist loops from its cloud servers, so your computer does not need to stay on. That describes Gyre’s workflow, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
Before you start
Make sure YouTube Live is available on your channel
Check that live streaming is enabled before preparing the broadcast. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until launch day. Gyre’s channel-authorization guidance also says the channel should be verified, have live streaming enabled, and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance and Gyre’s YouTube API update.
Prepare video you have the right to stream
Use files you are entitled to broadcast, including any music, images, or other material in them. Gyre’s workflow requires uploading files to Gyre Storage; do not assume that pasting a YouTube video URL is enough. Gyre describes coherent, substantial playlists as useful for a continuous channel, but playlist length is a recommendation, not a YouTube rule. See Gyre’s video-preparation guidance.
Set up the 24/7 stream in Gyre
- Upload your recordings. Add the video files to Gyre Storage and check that each upload has completed. Gyre’s converter can help prepare files, but use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations as the more current reference for stream settings.
- Build a playlist. Put the videos in the order you want viewers to see them. Gyre says playlists restart automatically after the final item, which is what makes a repeating broadcast possible.
- Connect your YouTube channel. Use Gyre’s channel-authorization flow if available for your account. Gyre says its YouTube API integration can create the broadcast and pass metadata such as title, description, tags, thumbnail, and privacy settings. Manual stream-key configuration is also available. Interface labels may change, so check the current Gyre dashboard and YouTube Studio rather than relying on an older screenshot.
- Set the broadcast details. Choose a clear title and description, confirm the intended privacy setting, and review the thumbnail and other metadata. If configuring the stream manually, use the YouTube Live server URL and stream key in Gyre’s corresponding fields. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it or share it outside the setup.
- Check monetization separately. A connected channel does not guarantee that ads are enabled on a new broadcast. Gyre says YouTube Studio has a monetization default for streams created with third-party tools. Check that setting and your channel’s eligibility in Studio before launch.
- Start the stream and verify it in YouTube Studio. Confirm that YouTube receives the broadcast, the correct playlist is playing, and the stream-health panel shows no unresolved issue.
Choose file and stream settings
Use settings suited to your source files and connection to the streaming service. YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), keyframes every 2 seconds (not more than 4 seconds apart), and AAC or MP3 audio. Its settings guidance lists stereo audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. For H.264 ingestion, YouTube lists these examples:

#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Output format | YouTube-listed minimum bitrate | YouTube-listed recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
These are YouTube encoder ingestion settings, not a promise of the quality any viewer will receive. Consult YouTube’s current resolution, bitrate, and encoder settings for other resolutions and codecs. Gyre’s older HD/Full HD preparation page lists 720p or 1080p, H.264, 3,072–6,144 kbps video, 128 kbps audio, and 30 fps; because that advice is older than YouTube’s current settings page, use it as file-preparation guidance rather than as a replacement for YouTube’s encoder table.
Test the broadcast and plan for its archive
Run a preflight check
YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the planned broadcast. Before relying on a long-running playlist, confirm that the video and audio play as expected, then check YouTube Studio’s stream-health messages during the test. This can reveal problems with the source or configuration before they affect a longer broadcast.

Do not count on a complete 24-hour replay
YouTube Help says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That guidance does not promise a complete archive for a continuous stream longer than 12 hours. If replay access matters, consider shorter broadcasts and separately retain the original files; check YouTube’s current behavior before relying on an archive. See YouTube’s encoder setup and archive guidance.
Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is not available yet: Enable it on the channel and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. Check for channel verification and any live-streaming restrictions that may prevent authorization.
- Gyre cannot find a video: Confirm that the file is uploaded to Gyre Storage and the upload finished; a video URL from YouTube is not a substitute in the documented workflow.
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Recheck the selected channel, server URL, and stream key if using manual setup. Ensure the key is current and has not been exposed; replace it in YouTube and Gyre if necessary.
- Stream health reports encoding trouble: Compare the selected codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, keyframe interval, and audio format with YouTube’s current settings. Run another test with representative audio and motion.
- The stream starts but ads are absent: Check channel eligibility and YouTube Studio’s default monetization setting for streams created through third-party tools.
- You need a full replay of a continuous broadcast: A 24/7 stream exceeds YouTube’s documented automatic-archive window for streams under 12 hours. Preserve source files separately and do not assume the entire continuous broadcast will be archived.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is to keep prerecorded video live on YouTube without leaving a computer running at home, StreamNeo is another cloud option: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60 fps at one price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only. Learn about StreamNeo or start the free first day.
