Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →You can run a prerecorded playlist as a continuous YouTube live stream without leaving a computer on at home: enable live streaming on your channel, upload your videos to a hosted streaming service that supports looping, connect it to YouTube, and test the broadcast before relying on it. StreamNeo is one option to consider first: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free.
Before you start: make sure the channel can go live
- Enable live streaming and verify the channel. YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so do this ahead of your planned launch. Create a test stream to confirm the channel is ready.
- Prepare the videos you have the right to stream. Check that every video, song, performance, image, and other included element is cleared for livestream use and any resulting archive. Uploading a video to YouTube previously does not by itself establish that you have all the rights needed to rebroadcast it.
- Decide how viewers should understand the broadcast. Use accurate title, description, and other metadata. If the live stream is a continuously looping playlist of prerecorded material, avoid presenting it as a live camera feed or implying that prerecorded events are happening in real time.
Choose a cloud service that fits the workflow
A hosted playlist service stores and sends the video feed for you. You upload files, arrange the playlist, connect the service to your YouTube channel or stream key, and start or schedule the broadcast. YouTube’s verified encoder information lists Gyre as a cloud tool for 24/7 prerecorded streams; Gyre describes uploading files, arranging a looping playlist, and starting or scheduling a broadcast. Treat provider descriptions of performance and availability as vendor claims, and confirm current terms directly.

StreamNeo is another cloud option for YouTube: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. For StreamNeo, the same plan includes looping, playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support; the product streams uploaded videos to YouTube, not camera footage.

Prepare and upload the playlist
Use the provider’s requirements
For Gyre, its help documentation says source files must be uploaded to Gyre storage, even if they are already on the creator’s YouTube channel or in a YouTube playlist. Its preparation guidance lists 1920×1080 or 1280×720, H.264 video, 3072–6144 kbps video bitrate, 128 kbps audio, and 30 fps. Those are Gyre-specific recommendations, not universal YouTube requirements; check Gyre’s current instructions and your selected service’s limits before encoding.
Check the playlist as a broadcast
- Confirm item order, loop behavior, and that all files have finished uploading and processing.
- Check sound levels and transitions between files, including the end-to-start transition when the playlist repeats.
- Make sure each item is appropriate for the intended audience and that its rights cover livestream use.
- Use a clear title and description that accurately identify the content as a continuous stream of prerecorded videos.
Connect the service to YouTube and start a test
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Choose or create a stream key if the service uses encoder credentials.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the service’s connection settings. YouTube describes stream keys as the password and address that let an encoder send a feed. Keep the key private; reset it if you think it has been exposed. If the service instead asks you to authorize your YouTube channel, review the permissions before approving access.
- Use RTMPS where supported. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which protects the encoder-to-YouTube connection with TLS.
- Start a short test. Confirm that the preview appears in Live Control Room, that picture and audio are correct, and that the public watch page is accessible. Check stream health and resolve platform warnings before leaving the playlist to run.
- Monitor the broadcast. A cloud service removes the need for your local computer to send the feed, but you remain responsible for the channel, content, stream health, and account warnings.
Settings that matter for YouTube streams
When you control encoder settings, use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the resolution and frame rate you have chosen. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. It also recommends constant bitrate encoding; select a bitrate appropriate to the chosen resolution and available uplink rather than treating one number as suitable for every stream. A hosted service may manage these settings for you, so follow that provider’s current configuration guidance instead of assuming you can set them directly.

Plan for long broadcasts, interruptions, and rights
Archives are not guaranteed for a full 24/7 run
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not establish that a single uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will be retained in full. If a complete replay matters, plan around that documented limit, check current archive and DVR behavior before launch, and keep a separate authorized source archive where appropriate.
Handle dropouts and recovery
Confirm how the service responds if YouTube disconnects or the stream is interrupted, including whether it retries automatically and whether you need to intervene in Live Control Room. A provider’s automatic recovery feature can help restore the outgoing stream, but test the actual workflow and continue checking for account or content warnings.

Check copyright and platform rules
YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to have the rights needed for worldwide exploitation of their live content, including music rights, and to comply with applicable rules and regulations. A video that was previously uploaded is not automatically cleared for a continuous livestream or its archive. Review YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service as well as the licenses covering your content.
DIY versus hosted: what changes
| Approach | What stays under your control | What you must account for |
|---|---|---|
| Hosted playlist service | Playlist content, YouTube channel, and the decision to start or schedule the stream. | Provider storage and service limits, connection behavior, billing terms, and monitoring. |
| Local computer and encoder | Encoder configuration and local file handling. | The computer, power, network, and encoder must remain available; you handle restarts and monitoring. |
| Configurable cloud encoder | More of the cloud infrastructure and encoder configuration. | Setup complexity and cost depend on the service and design; a verified-encoder listing alone does not establish that it is the simplest or least expensive way to loop a playlist. |
A local setup may avoid a hosted-service subscription, but it depends on your computer, electricity, internet connection, and encoder staying available. A hosted option shifts those operations to a provider but introduces provider dependency and recurring terms. Compare total cost and operating effort for your own situation rather than assuming one model is always cheaper or more reliable.
