To run a product-demo stream on YouTube Live around the clock, send a continuous feed to YouTube through an encoder: software on a computer, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service. First make sure your channel can livestream, then prepare authorized demo programming, create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, protect its stream key, and plan for interruptions and archives. A local setup needs a computer and connection to remain available; a cloud setup moves playback and streaming off your computer.
Choose how to keep the demo feed running
The encoder sends your live feed to YouTube. Your choice determines where playback and encoding run—not whether YouTube guarantees an uninterrupted broadcast. The YouTube encoder directory lists supported categories and services, but a directory listing is not an uptime guarantee.

YouTube supports software and standalone hardware encoders and lists services for continuous prerecorded streams, including Gyre. Its guide recommends choosing an encoder appropriate to your stream or business; it does not establish a universal computer specification or minimum configuration. Check channel eligibility before launch
- Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- Enabling livestreaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours. Do this ahead of your planned launch.

Prepare a useful, rights-cleared demo playlist
For prerecorded programming, assemble a playlist that explains the product rather than merely repeating the same footage. Include distinct demonstrations, useful variations and clear labels or context where that helps viewers understand what they are seeing. Confirm that you have permission to use all footage, product imagery, music and other assets in the stream, and keep records of those rights. Permission to use material does not by itself make a channel eligible for monetization.
YouTube’s live-stream terms require creators to have the rights needed for worldwide use of live content on Google services, including applicable music licensing rights. Read the YouTube live-stream terms. YouTube’s channel monetization policies also apply to livestreams: they assess originality and value at channel level, and warn that mass-produced, generic or repetitive content may be ineligible. The policy says similar formats may be allowed when each video’s substance is materially varied and offers creative, educational or other value. Reused-content policy is separate from copyright; having permission alone does not settle monetization eligibility. None of this guarantees a monetization outcome.

Create the encoder stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Create a new encoder stream or schedule one. Follow the on-screen prompts for the stream details and visibility.
- In the stream settings, copy the server URL and stream key supplied by YouTube into the corresponding fields in your encoder. The encoder uses them to send the feed to the correct YouTube stream.
- Keep the stream key private. YouTube treats it as a password: store it only in protected encoder settings, limit access to trusted operators and do not show or publish it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube’s stream settings and update the encoder. See YouTube’s stream-key instructions.
- Where your encoder supports it, use RTMPS ingestion. Google describes RTMPS as RTMP carried over an SSL connection; check Google’s RTMPS documentation.
For encoder-specific bitrate, resolution and keyframe settings, follow the current recommendations for your selected encoder and YouTube’s stream configuration. The sources here do not establish one set of values suitable for every resolution, connection and encoder, so do not copy a universal setting without checking that guidance.
Start the broadcast and monitor it
- Start the encoder or cloud stream so its feed reaches YouTube.
- Wait for the preview in Live Control Room, then verify the broadcast is live and monitor stream health.
- Keep an operating plan for interruptions: a stable power and internet connection, a source or playlist that does not run out, a recovery procedure, an alert or monitoring routine, and a separate recording backup.
- When ending a scheduled broadcast, end it in Live Control Room and stop the encoder as YouTube directs.
These are operating precautions, not a promise of uninterrupted service. YouTube’s guidance does not prescribe a universal power or network configuration for every stream.

Plan recordings separately from the live broadcast
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived and recommends keeping a local recording backup. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. For a continuous channel, do not rely on one 24-hour broadcast to create a replay: record the source separately or publish shorter episodes or chapters for later viewing. Costs and setup trade-offs
A local software or hardware setup requires you to arrange and operate the equipment, power, network and recovery plan; the exact cost depends on your own setup. A cloud service shifts playback and stream operation to provider infrastructure, but check its limits, terms, data handling and any uptime commitments before relying on it. YouTube’s encoder listings identify supported approaches, not a universal best choice or a service-level guarantee.
