The practical requirements are a verified, eligible YouTube channel; music and visuals cleared for live broadcast and any replay; sustained upload capacity with headroom; and a plan for power, network, encoder and stream recovery.
Before you start: confirm channel eligibility and content rights
- In YouTube Studio, verify the channel and check that it has no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Enable live streaming ahead of time: first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. See YouTube’s live-streaming access guidance.
- Use music and visuals you created or have permission to broadcast. If you want to keep an archive, make sure your permission also covers that use. “Meditation,” “ambient,” or “royalty-free” labels alone do not establish those rights. YouTube makes the content provider responsible for necessary rights, and live content must comply with its Community Guidelines: YouTube’s terms.
- Keep licenses and written permissions accessible. A rights claim or restriction can interrupt a stream even when the technical setup is sound.
How much JioFiber upload speed does a 24/7 stream need?
Use measured sustained upload at the encoder’s location, not the plan name or a single speed-test peak. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload headroom above the stream bitrate and notes that other devices sharing the connection can reduce capacity. Its streaming tips explain why a connectivity disruption can break a stream.
For example, if your chosen video bitrate is 4 Mbps, allow at least 5 Mbps of sustained upload for the stream before accounting for other household use. Test with the devices and activity you expect during the broadcast; leave additional margin if upload varies. If the stream health indicator becomes unstable, reduce bitrate or resolution and test again.
Jio describes its prepaid JioFiber plans as offering symmetrical upload and download speeds. Its comparison page has listed examples of 30/30, 100/100 and 150/150 Mbps, but availability and terms can vary by address and plan. Verify the current details for your account on Jio’s plan page; advertised symmetrical speed does not guarantee local uptime.

Set up the encoder and YouTube Live
- Build a continuous scene. Prepare the meditation visuals and audio in an encoder running on a computer or suitable standalone hardware. Test the complete loop, transitions, levels and source-file behavior for an extended run; an encoder workflow does not by itself guarantee an indefinitely open event.
- Create the YouTube event. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room, create or schedule the stream, and select the encoder workflow. Copy the stream key into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat that key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Choose compatible video settings. YouTube’s general encoder guidance supports H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1, recommends constant bitrate (CBR), and recommends a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. Set the codec, resolution and bitrate in the encoder to match the selected YouTube protocol and current Live Control Room guidance. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance.
- Make bitrate fit the connection. Choose a conservative bitrate that leaves YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom after accounting for household traffic. If you cannot maintain the margin, lower the bitrate or resolution rather than relying on a brief speed-test result.
- Check the preview before starting. Confirm picture, audio, loop transitions and stream health in the Live Control Room. Open the watch page on a second device to verify that viewers see and hear the intended feed.
Connect the encoder reliably and test JioFiber
- Connect the encoder computer to the JioFiber router by Ethernet where practical. Wi-Fi may work, but the wired path removes one source of local wireless variability; it cannot prevent an ISP or power interruption.
- Pause avoidable uploads and downloads during the stream. Measure outbound speed at the encoder location at different times and repeat with typical household devices active.
- Run an unlisted rehearsal using the actual video, audio, bitrate and resolution planned for the public stream. Watch the Live Control Room’s stream health and lower settings if it reports instability.
- Check that the router, encoder and any required display or audio equipment have power for the planned operating period. A single connection and encoder do not provide automatic 24/7 uptime.
Plan for overnight outages and stream recovery
Rehearse what you will do if the encoder stops, the computer restarts or the broadband connection drops. YouTube recommends testing encoder failover and checking the growth of any local archive recording. Decide how someone will notice an outage and how the stream will be restored; a truly unattended broadcast needs a realistic monitoring and recovery arrangement.
Do not assume YouTube will preserve a replay of one continuous event longer than 12 hours. The archive behavior for events exceeding that duration is not established here, so check YouTube’s current documentation before promising viewers a replay. If a replay matters, plan and test an appropriate event schedule and local recording rather than relying on an unverified archive assumption.

Check JioFiber data and plan terms
A continuous stream sends data for as long as it runs, so estimate its upload volume from the chosen bitrate. As a rough calculation, a 1 Mbps stream transfers about 10.8 GB in 24 hours before protocol overhead; at a constant bitrate, that is about 324 GB over 30 days. Multiply by your actual bitrate and include other household usage when evaluating the account’s terms.
Jio’s FAQ describes unlimited high-speed data for home plans while reserving rights regarding misuse, unauthorized or commercial use. Jio’s prepaid terms state that use beyond 3,300 GB in a 30-day recharge cycle is treated as misuse under the stated commercial-use policy. That threshold is specific to those terms, not a universal allowance for every JioFiber account. Troubleshoot common 24/7 stream problems

What upload speed do I need for a 24/7 live stream?
Base it on the stream bitrate and measured sustained upload at the encoder location. YouTube recommends 20% headroom above the bitrate; household traffic needs to fit within the remaining capacity.
