Jio’s published terms do not establish that a particular plan is suitable for a 24/7 broadcast, so confirm the exact plan and use case with Jio before relying on it.
What you need to check first
- YouTube eligibility: The channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
- Jio plan terms: Check the terms for your exact plan and ask Jio whether it permits the planned continuous prayer broadcast.
- Actual upload performance: Measure upload speed where the encoder will run. Advertised download speed alone does not show whether the connection can sustain a live stream.
- Rights: Make sure you have permission for every prayer, reading, song, image, and video in the program.
Set up the YouTube stream with an encoder
For a stationary feed or repeating prayer program, an encoder is a practical way to send video and audio to YouTube Live. YouTube supports encoder streaming for production equipment and overlays; it does not require a particular computer, encoder application, camera, or microphone.
- Verify the channel and open YouTube Studio. Confirm that the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility requirements before scheduling or starting the stream. Follow the live-streaming workflow in YouTube Help.
- Prepare the program. Choose whether the feed will use a live camera and microphone, a prepared video, or a sequence of material. Arrange the audio and visuals in the encoder you choose. If you plan to loop recorded content, use only material you own or are licensed to stream.
- Create the live event and connect the encoder. In YouTube Studio, start the encoder workflow and copy the stream key into your encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your event. Do not publish it or show it on screen.
- Set video and audio encoding. YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 for video, AAC or MP3 for audio, CBR, and RTMP or RTMPS. Use settings supported by both your encoder and the selected YouTube workflow; the full recommendations are in YouTube’s encoder settings guide.
- Choose a bitrate your Jio connection can sustain. YouTube recommends checking upload speed, choosing quality for connection reliability, testing representative audio and movement, and monitoring stream health. Its listed recommended H.264 video bitrates include 8 Mbps for 720p at 30 or 60 fps, 14 Mbps for 1080p30, and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. These are YouTube ingestion recommendations, not Jio speed guarantees. If upload fluctuates, begin with a lower resolution or bitrate and test before settling on a setting.
- Set the keyframe interval. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds.
- Run a representative test and watch stream health. Include audio and movement similar to the actual program. Check YouTube Studio’s stream-health messages and the encoder for dropped frames or connection warnings. A short test can miss fluctuations, so test long enough to understand performance at the intended location and time.
- Start the broadcast and continue monitoring. Confirm that YouTube is receiving a stable signal, that audio is audible, and that the correct program is playing. YouTube recommends testing before going live and monitoring stream health; its guidance does not promise uninterrupted operation or specify a 24/7 uptime architecture.
Can a Jio connection support 24/7 streaming?
There is no reliable yes-or-no answer without knowing your exact Jio plan and measuring its sustained upload performance at the encoder location. Compare measured upload capacity and stability with the video bitrate you select, and leave room for variation rather than setting the stream at the connection’s apparent limit. TRAI does not prescribe a minimum broadband upload speed. It says providers must state fair-usage limits and post-limit speeds, and consumers can measure performance using TRAI MySpeed. Jio’s FAQ says the referenced unlimited plans are for home use and that RJIL may discontinue data services in cases of misuse, fraudulent, unauthorised, or commercial use. The FAQ does not determine whether your specific prayer stream or plan counts as commercial use. Before depending on Jio for a continuous broadcast, ask Jio about the exact plan and intended use in writing if possible. See Jio’s fair-usage FAQ.

Keep the program eligible and rights-cleared
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may show a placeholder; if the issue continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A licence does not necessarily prevent interruptions: for Content ID-managed material, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its allowlist. Completed streams can also receive Content ID claims. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
- Use original or properly licensed prayers, Bible readings, music, artwork, photographs, and video.
- Check that a licence specifically covers livestreaming and any repeated or archived use; permission to use a song in another context may not cover a continuous YouTube broadcast.
- Keep records of permissions and licence terms, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where applicable.
- Do not assume that religious, non-commercial, or background use is automatically exempt from copyright rules.
Plan for interruptions and costs
A 24/7 stream depends on power, the encoder, the network, and YouTube receiving the signal. A UPS for the router and encoder is an optional way to help with brief power interruptions; choose one based on the equipment load and do not treat it as an uptime guarantee. The official guidance cited here does not establish a required redundancy design, Jio-specific continuous-stream guarantee, or plan price for this use case.
