For a church that wants a YouTube stream to run continuously, StreamNeo is the simplest option to try first: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; it runs from the cloud, supports uploaded video up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free. If you specifically need your own server, the shortlist is Inservers IN-BASIC for a Linux relay, NivoHost RDP 1 for a Windows remote-desktop workflow, and DuckCloud L2 as a lower-priced general VPS to evaluate. Their listed monthly costs and terms differ, and none has been independently tested here for sustained stream stability.
A VPS can either relay a stream encoded somewhere else or encode/transcode video itself. That distinction matters: a modest VPS may be adequate for forwarding an already-encoded stream, while encoding video or converting it in real time needs more CPU capacity. Decide which job you need before choosing a plan.
What to choose for a church YouTube stream
If the goal is to keep uploaded video playing on YouTube without leaving equipment running at the church, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs the loop in the cloud, supports the video as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free. It plays uploaded recordings and playlists; it is not a camera-to-YouTube service.
If you need a VPS you administer, match the plan to the workload rather than choosing on price alone. Inservers IN-BASIC is the clearest listed fit for a Linux relay, NivoHost RDP 1 is a Windows RDP option with a provider-marketed streaming workflow, and DuckCloud L2 is a cheaper general-purpose Linux VPS whose suitability for a continuous relay should be confirmed with the provider.

VPS and cloud-streaming options compared
| Option | Published price and configuration | Potential fit | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | One slot includes one always-on YouTube stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops, and support from the StreamNeo team. Uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps; there are no quality tiers. | Keeping uploaded church videos or a playlist live on YouTube without maintaining a VPS or computer. | It streams uploaded video to YouTube only; it does not broadcast a live camera feed. |
| Inservers IN-BASIC | ₹880/month; 2 vCores, 4 GB DDR4, 40 GB NVMe, 1-Gbps unmetered uplink, according to Inservers. | Linux relay forwarding an already-encoded stream. | Inservers says the plan suits one 1080p60 relay without transcoding; that is the provider’s guidance, not an independent test. Confirm the meaning of unmetered, routing, and SLA terms. |
| NivoHost RDP 1 | ₹699/month listed; 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB SSD, 20 TB bandwidth, 1-Gbps port; plan label says 360p at 10 fps. | A Windows remote-desktop workflow if Windows or the provider’s managed streaming setup is needed. | NivoHost claims 99% uptime. The listed 360p/10 fps may not suit a service where readable text or a clear pulpit view matters. Confirm renewal pricing and performance limits. |
| DuckCloud Linux VPS L2 | ₹549/month on a one-year term; 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 80 GB SSD, claimed unlimited bandwidth. DuckCloud says prices exclude GST. | A lower-cost general Linux VPS to assess for relaying an encoded stream. | It is not specifically marketed for streaming. Review annual commitment, GST, bandwidth terms, and the provider-stated 99.9% SLA and its remedies. |
| RupeeCloud Nano | Starting ₹949/month plus GST; 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, 1-Gbps port, and full root access, as listed by RupeeCloud. | An unmanaged option where root access and local billing are priorities. | RupeeCloud says customers handle software installation, OS security patches, and configuration. Streaming suitability is not established by its listing. |
Provider prices, configurations, uptime figures, and bandwidth descriptions above are commercial listing claims, not comparable independent performance measurements. The actual tax-inclusive cost, renewal amount, available data-center location, support scope, and contract terms should be confirmed at checkout or in writing.
How to choose a VPS for continuous streaming
1. Decide whether the VPS relays or encodes
A relay forwards video that has already been encoded, so it generally places less processing demand on the VPS than software encoding or transcoding. Inservers recommends IN-BASIC for one 1080p60 relay without transcoding and larger tiers for transcoding or multiple platforms; treat that as vendor guidance, not proof that your specific stream will work. If the VPS must encode, convert resolution, or handle multiple destinations, ask the provider what sustained CPU capacity is available and test the exact workflow before depending on it.

2. Check transfer, routing, and service terms
A 1-Gbps port label does not by itself guarantee sustained throughput. Likewise, “unmetered” or “unlimited” does not explain fair-use rules, possible shaping, or the quality of routes to YouTube’s ingest servers. Ask each provider for written details on:
- Monthly outbound transfer allowances, overage charges, fair-use rules, and whether advertised port speed is burst or sustained.
- Data-center location and routing to the YouTube ingest endpoint you will use.
- SLA exclusions, remedies or service credits, and how maintenance is handled.
- Reboot behavior, backup options, monitoring, and how an interrupted process is restarted.
- Support hours and whether help covers the operating system, streaming software, or only the virtual machine.
- GST-inclusive checkout cost, renewal price, and any minimum or annual commitment.
Provider-reported latency and availability are claims by the provider until measured from the church’s actual network and destination configuration.

3. Choose quality for the real source and connection
YouTube recommends selecting a quality that is reliable for the available internet connection, testing before the event, and monitoring stream health. It also says it automatically transcodes a live stream into output formats for viewers. For H.264, YouTube Help’s current settings page, accessed in 2026, recommends 8 Mbps for 720p at 30 or 60 fps, 14 Mbps for 1080p30, and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. It recommends RTMPS, CBR bitrate encoding, and a 2-second keyframe interval, not exceeding 4 seconds. These encoder recommendations do not certify that a particular VPS can sustain the stream.
4. Rehearse the entire service workflow
Run a pre-stream test with audio, motion, overlays, and the same resolution and frame rate planned for the service. Check YouTube’s stream-health indicators, watch for dropped frames or audio problems, and verify the restart and reconnect process. A provider’s “24/7” marketing is not proof that one YouTube session will remain uninterrupted indefinitely. NivoHost says its automation can restart a stream and separately claims a 12-hour session limit; that limit is not confirmed here against YouTube’s official guidance, so verify current platform behavior and rehearse reconnecting rather than relying on that claim.

Running your own VPS relay
The VPS comparison only helps after you decide how the church’s video reaches it. A practical relay setup sends an already-encoded feed from a local encoder or another upstream source to a streaming process on the VPS, which then forwards it to YouTube. The VPS does not remove the need for a reliable source feed, valid YouTube stream key, or monitoring.
- Choose the VPS and operating system. For a Linux relay, compare Inservers IN-BASIC with general Linux plans such as DuckCloud L2. Choose a Windows RDP plan only if the Windows desktop workflow or provider-managed setup is genuinely needed.
- Confirm limits before installation. Get written answers on transfer policy, sustained network capacity, data-center location, taxes, renewal price, SLA terms, and support responsibilities. Confirm the account permits your intended continuous YouTube stream.
- Prepare the source and YouTube event. Create or schedule the live stream in YouTube Studio, copy the stream key securely, and configure the source to send to the selected YouTube ingest server using RTMPS where supported. Never publish or share the key; anyone with it may be able to broadcast to the channel.
- Set encoder values to match the service. Use H.264 settings appropriate to the chosen resolution and frame rate. YouTube’s recommendations are 8 Mbps for 720p30/60, 14 Mbps for 1080p30, or 17 Mbps for 1080p60, with CBR and a 2-second keyframe interval (no more than 4 seconds). Use a bitrate the upstream connection can sustain; a higher target is not an improvement if it causes instability.
- Configure relay and process recovery. Install and configure relay software for the chosen OS, then arrange process supervision or equivalent automation so a failed process can be restarted. Test what happens after a VPS reboot, source disconnect, YouTube disconnect, and expired or replaced stream key. Exact software commands depend on the chosen relay and operating system; the provider listings do not establish a single supported configuration.
- Test before relying on it. Run a realistic rehearsal from the church’s actual network, monitor YouTube stream health, confirm audio and picture, and test recovery. Keep a responsible person able to check the broadcast and respond to platform or source problems.
Copyright and YouTube channel considerations
Using a VPS or cloud loop does not grant rights to the material being broadcast. Confirm that the church has permission for music, recordings, images, and any third-party video in the stream. A livestream may be interrupted or restricted if rights holders or YouTube identify copyrighted material. Also ensure the channel and stream comply with YouTube’s current live-streaming requirements and policies; check YouTube Studio for account-specific eligibility or restrictions before scheduling a service. Replaying recordings as a live stream should not be treated as a way around copyright or channel policies.

Costs beyond the headline VPS price
For VPS hosting, compare the actual payable amount rather than the lowest displayed monthly figure: DuckCloud’s L2 listing uses a one-year term and excludes GST, while RupeeCloud lists prices plus GST. Confirm whether other quoted prices include tax and whether they renew at the same rate. Also account for the time and responsibility involved in installing, patching, monitoring, and recovering a self-managed server. In India, check billing currency and payment methods directly with each host.
For planning, StreamNeo offers a video upload-time calculator, a cloud vs PC cost calculator, and a copyright safety checklist.

Quick Recap
Common problems and fixes
- Stream starts but YouTube reports poor health: Check the source connection and stream-health warnings, then lower the resolution or bitrate if the available upload cannot sustain the target. Repeat the test using the same audio and movement as the service.
- Picture freezes or drops frames: Determine whether the problem is at the source, relay, VPS network, or YouTube ingest. Check CPU load if encoding on the VPS; a relay should not be mistaken for an encoder with spare capacity.
- Stream stops after a disconnect or reboot: Confirm process supervision and restart behavior, test source reconnection, and verify the stream key and scheduled YouTube event. Do not assume provider uptime claims guarantee application-level recovery.
- Unexpected bandwidth bill or throttling: Review the written transfer allowance, fair-use policy, and overage terms; advertised “unmetered” or “unlimited” labels alone do not resolve those details.
- Text, lyrics, or pulpit view is hard to see: Review source framing, lighting, resolution, and frame rate. NivoHost RDP 1’s listing of 360p at 10 fps may be unsuitable for this use even if its price is attractive.
- Copyright claim or restriction: Review the stream’s audio and visual material, confirm permissions, and follow the notice shown in YouTube Studio. Changing VPS providers does not resolve rights issues.
