Enable live access in advance, assemble a track-by-track rights record, configure and test the broadcast, and prepare people and procedures to respond when something fails. YouTube documents its stream and broadcast mechanics; it does not promise that a single broadcast can run forever or stay uninterrupted.
Before you stream: enable live access and check restrictions
If this is the channel’s first livestream, verify the account and enable live streaming at least 24 hours before going live, as YouTube for Artists advises. Clear the Bengali kirtan recordings you plan to use
“Bengali kirtan” describes a musical tradition, not the rights status of a particular track. A composition, a later arrangement, a sound recording and a performance can involve different rights holders. Do not assume that a devotional or traditional song makes a modern recording or arrangement free to stream.
Make a rights ledger for every track
Record the composition and version, arrangement, recording owner, performers, permission source, permitted territories, continuous livestream rights, archive or replay status, monetization terms, and any expiry date or duration limit. Confirm that the permission covers the actual plan: a continuous YouTube stream, the places viewers may access it, any saved replay, and monetization if you intend to monetize.

Ask about Content ID before launch
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. Its guidance says a placeholder may replace a detected stream and that continued use can lead to interruption or termination. Copyright or Community Guidelines strikes can also terminate a stream. YouTube recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using protected music; if a rights holder has licensed your use, ask them to allowlist the channel through Content ID and keep written permission available. Choose how the stream will be produced and operated
An encoder sends the live feed to YouTube and offers more control and customization than a basic mobile or webcam stream, according to YouTube for Artists. The reviewed guidance does not identify a preferred hardware encoder, computer or software package for Bengali kirtan. Choose a setup that matches whether the program is live musicians or a pre-recorded, rights-cleared sequence, your audio and visual needs, the operator’s skills, and the recovery support you can provide. Test the exact audio and video chain before launch.
Understand YouTube’s stream and broadcast resources
YouTube’s Live Streaming API distinguishes the encoder’s incoming feed, called a liveStream, from the viewer-facing event, called a liveBroadcast. Its recurring-event pattern can associate one stream resource with multiple broadcasts. That describes an API workflow; it is not evidence that one broadcast can run indefinitely. Create and bind the stream and broadcast through YouTube Studio or the API workflow you use, then enter the channel’s current ingestion settings in the encoder. Use protocol specifications only when they fit your setup
YouTube’s HLS and DASH ingestion pages set out requirements for encoder implementations, including delivery behavior and supported media formats. HLS ingestion requires muxed audio and video over HTTPS with supported formats, codecs, playlists and segments; DASH has its own timing and segment-delivery rules. Build and test the broadcast before announcing it
- Prepare the channel. Complete verification and first-time live-stream enablement with the 24-hour lead time, and check for restrictions.
- Prepare the program. Assemble only tracks whose permissions cover the intended live use. Decide whether the presentation is live musicians or a pre-recorded sequence, and prepare the visuals and audio accordingly.
- Create the YouTube event and feed. Use YouTube Studio or the relevant API workflow to create and bind the broadcast and stream resources. Configure the encoder with the ingestion settings shown for the channel’s current setup.
- Run a representative test. Test the actual music, levels, visuals, network conditions, and duration you expect to use. Use a private or otherwise appropriate test before inviting viewers.
- Assign monitoring and recovery. Decide who checks YouTube Studio and the encoder, who responds to warnings or a dropped feed, and how the encoder or broadcast will be restarted. Keep a rights-cleared fallback playlist or holding visual ready if your setup supports one.
These are operational precautions, not an uptime design validated by the cited platform documentation. Plan for internet, power, encoder and YouTube interruptions; the available guidance does not establish a universal 24/7 broadcast-duration limit or an uptime guarantee.

Respond to matches, warnings and stream interruptions
- A copyright match appears: If you have permission, contact the relevant label, distributor or rights holder about Content ID allowlisting and retain the written permission. Do not assume a license automatically prevents detection or an interruption.
- YouTube replaces the picture or warns you: Treat the warning as an instruction to stop using the matched material. Continuing with detected content can lead to interruption or termination.
- The stream drops for a technical reason: Follow the recovery procedure assigned before launch: check YouTube Studio and encoder status, identify whether the failure is power, network or encoder-related, and restart the affected part of the workflow. Use the cleared fallback only if the setup supports it.
- A stream is terminated: Check for copyright or Community Guidelines notices and resolve the underlying issue before restarting; do not simply replay the same material without addressing the cause.
