First, identify whether you used dictation or voice mode
These are separate speech workflows in the Claude mobile apps, with different documented data-handling statements.

Find voice-mode conversations in chat history
Voice-mode transcripts and summarized voice notes are saved in chat history like text conversations. Open the relevant conversation to review its saved content. Because voice mode can switch to text within the same conversation, check the conversation history rather than looking for a separate voice-only archive.

Delete a conversation or several chats
Anthropic’s documented controls let you delete an individual conversation or select multiple conversations from the Chats list.
- To remove one chat, open the conversation, select its name, then choose Delete.
- To remove several, open Chats, select the conversations, then choose Delete Selected.
These steps describe the user-facing deletion action; Anthropic’s instructions do not specify backend deletion timing or any applicable retention exceptions. See How can I delete or rename a conversation?

Review consumer privacy and model-improvement settings
For consumer Claude accounts, Anthropic says privacy and model-improvement settings can be adjusted at any time. Its privacy information says conversations may be used to improve Claude when the user allows it. It also describes unlinking data from a user ID before review and limiting access to a small number of personnel involved in model training; safety-flagged conversations may still be used for specified safety purposes. These statements are not a guarantee that a conversation can never be reviewed or used. Details are in Anthropic’s consumer privacy guidance.

Export your data before a major account change
Individual users can export account information and chat history from Settings > Privacy in the Claude web app or Claude Desktop. Anthropic says exports cannot be initiated from its mobile apps. If you want a copy before deleting chats or your account, request the export first. See How can I export my Claude data?

Account deletion is separate from deleting a conversation. Anthropic describes account deletion as permanent and says saved chats will no longer be accessible. The control is under Settings > Account, then Delete Account. Export first if you need to preserve your information. See How can I delete my Claude account?

What the published instructions do not establish
- For voice mode, the cited instructions establish that transcripts and summarized voice notes are saved, but do not say whether raw audio is retained or for how long.
- The conversation-deletion instructions explain how to delete chats but do not give a backend deletion timeline.
