To restore a standard website, open Websites → Dashboard → Backups in hPanel, choose the appropriate restore option and backup date, then confirm. A restore replaces data with the saved version, so download a current copy first if you may need changes made since that backup. WordPress, Website Builder, and VPS sites use different restore routes.
Choose the restore route for your site

Restore a WordPress website or hosting files and database
- In hPanel, open Websites, select the site, click Dashboard, then open Backups in the sidebar.
- For a supported WordPress site, find the website backup option, select the domain and backup date, choose Restore website, and confirm the overwrite prompt. This restores the files and database together.
- If the full website option is unavailable, open Files backups, select a date, and choose the website folder, directory, subdomain, or individual file you need. For a whole-site file restore, also restore the matching database backup from that date.
- For a database-only restore, open Database backups, select the date and database, and restore it. If the database is absent from the current MySQL databases list, recreate it before retrying.
- Check Restore History to monitor progress. The restore continues in the background if you minimize or close the browser tab.
Restoring a whole website may take about 10–15 minutes and an individual file may take a couple of minutes; actual time varies with size, so these are not guarantees. If the restored version does not appear, clear the browser cache. Symlinks are not automatically recreated and may need to be added again manually.

Restore a Website Builder version
- Open the site in the Website Builder editor and open the version list using the Save control or Manage backups.
- Select the version you want and choose Restore backup.
- Choose the editor’s update action to publish the restored version to the live site.
Builder versions are created when the site is first published and whenever it is updated, and are retained for 30 days. This workflow restores a version in the editor; it is separate from the standard file-and-database backup controls.

In the VPS dashboard, go to Backups & Monitoring → Snapshots & Backups, select an available backup, and follow the restore confirmation steps. Save any current server data you may need before proceeding: the restore overwrites current server content and removes snapshots already created. The available dates depend on the backups shown in the VPS list; a date that is not listed is not available to restore.

Check which backup dates are available
Available dates depend on the product and plan. Weekly backups are available on hosting plans, with daily backups on Web Business and higher; Web Single and Premium customers can purchase daily backups. Purchased daily backups for those plans are retained for the last seven days. Treat the dates shown in your account as authoritative rather than assuming a particular date is available. VPS backup schedules and retention are product-specific as well.
If the site expired or was deleted
Hosting plan expired for nonpayment
Self-service plan restoration is available during the first 30 days after expiration and requires renewing the plan. After that period, the Customer Success team may be able to provide a file backup within 90 days of expiration, except for Website Builder sites. Plan restoration includes site files and databases, but not email. The process may take 30 minutes to a few hours depending on the number of sites; availability and timing are not guaranteed.

Website deleted from the plan
You may need to add the website back to the hosting plan before restoring its files and database. To restore the database, recreate it with the previous database name, username, and password, then retry the database restore.
Troubleshoot missing or invisible backups
- No Website backup option: The all-in-one website restore is for supported WordPress sites. Use the file and database backup routes where appropriate, or the separate Website Builder or VPS workflow.
- “No backups found” or a missing date: Check the backup controls for the correct product and the dates available in your account. A date not listed cannot be selected for that restore.
- Database restore unavailable: Confirm that the database exists in the current MySQL databases list; recreate it if needed.
- Restored changes are not visible: Clear the browser cache. For Website Builder, make sure you updated the site after restoring the version.
- Broken links after restore: Recreate any symlinks required by the site; they are not restored automatically.
