Enable the app at startup, then check the meditation service’s own session-resume or autoplay settings.
Set the meditation app to open when you sign in
These options apply to Windows 10 and Windows 11. The exact labels and layout can vary by version. Use the first method if your app appears in the startup list; otherwise add a shortcut to the Startup folder. Microsoft’s instructions are at Configure Startup applications in Windows.
Enable it in Settings
- Open Settings > Apps > Startup.
- Find the meditation app and turn its startup switch on.
- After Windows next restarts, sign in and check whether the app opens.
Enable it in Task Manager
- Right-click Start and open Task Manager.
- Select Startup apps. In some Windows versions, the tab may simply be called Startup.
- Select the meditation app and choose Enable if it is listed as disabled.
Add a shortcut if the app is not listed
- Press Windows key + R, type
shell:appsfolder, and press Enter. This opens the installed-apps folder. - Press Windows key + R again, type
shell:startup, and press Enter. This opens the Startup folder for your Windows account. - In the installed-apps folder, create or copy a shortcut for the meditation app into the Startup folder. If needed, arrange the two File Explorer windows side by side and drag the app into the Startup folder using the option to create a shortcut.
- Sign out and back in, or restart Windows, to check that the shortcut launches the app.
To launch it for every account on that PC, Microsoft also documents the common Startup folder, opened with shell:common startup. Use it only if you want the app to start for all users, not just your own account.
Make sure the service resumes playback—not just the app
Startup settings only tell Windows to open an app after you sign in. They do not establish that the meditation service will automatically authenticate your account, reopen the same stream, restore your place, or start playing. Look in the app or service settings for options such as remember me, resume session, or autoplay, and confirm what happens after a restart. The service is not identified here, so its exact controls and behavior cannot be specified.

- If the app opens but asks you to sign in, check whether it offers a persistent sign-in option and whether your account permits it.
- If it opens without playing, check the service’s autoplay or resume settings. Do not assume that app launch means playback has resumed.
- If your device requires a password or other sign-in step, the app will generally wait until you sign in before a per-user Startup shortcut can run.
Reduce interruptions by choosing update restart timing
Startup launch helps you recover after a restart; Windows Update timing can reduce the chance that a restart interrupts listening. Set active hours or schedule a restart for a time when you are not using the PC. Microsoft says Windows tries to restart outside active hours where possible, but this is not a guarantee that an update will never interrupt a session. Microsoft’s notice published August 14, 2026 says updates released on and after July 28, 2026 are combined for one monthly restart on Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, and 26H1. The rollout is gradual, so this behavior may not yet be available on every device. It does not mean updates never require a restart. Windows 10 support ended October 14, 2025, according to Microsoft’s current FAQ.

Troubleshoot when the meditation stream does not come back
