You may be able to reconnect CameraFi Live to the same YouTube broadcast if YouTube still shows that broadcast as active or waiting for encoder input. First check the broadcast’s status in YouTube Studio: reusing a stream key can reconnect an encoder feed, but it does not reopen a broadcast YouTube has marked ended.
First check whether the YouTube broadcast is still open
Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Find the intended broadcast and check its status. Confirm that it is the same event and viewer link you want to preserve.

YouTube treats the encoder connection and the viewer-facing broadcast as related but distinct parts of a live stream. A stream key identifies the settings CameraFi uses to send video; the broadcast is the event viewers watch. YouTube allows custom stream keys to be reused, but that does not mean an ended broadcast can be restarted with the same link. See YouTube’s live stream settings guidance and its encoder setup instructions.
If the broadcast is active or waiting for input
- Keep the existing event selected. In YouTube Studio, verify that the broadcast has not ended and that you are checking the event viewers already have.
- Reconnect CameraFi Live to the same channel and stream configuration. Use the existing YouTube connection and stream settings rather than creating another event. CameraFi’s current guide covers starting and stopping a YouTube stream, but it does not establish a universal recovery button or exact relaunch labels for a dropped session. The controls may vary by app version.
- Check YouTube Studio for incoming video. Wait for the Live Control Room to show the encoder feed or preview, then confirm the broadcast is live before telling viewers the stream has resumed.
If Studio does not receive video, confirm that CameraFi is connected to the intended YouTube account and that its selected stream configuration uses the expected key. Avoid ending the broadcast while troubleshooting if preserving the current event link matters.

- The Google TV Streamer (4K) delivers your favorite entertainment quickly, easily, and personalized to you[1,2]
- HDMI 2.1 cable required (sold separately)
- See movies and TV shows from all your services right from your home screen[2]; and find new things to watch with tailored recommendations for everyone in your home based on their interests and viewing habits
- Watch live TV and access over 800 free channels from Pluto TV, Tubi, and more[3]; if you find an interesting show or movie on your TV, mobile app, or Google search, you can easily add it to your watchlist, so it’s ready when you are[2]
- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
If YouTube says the broadcast has ended
Do not assume that restarting CameraFi or entering the same key will reopen the event. YouTube’s documentation describes reusable stream feeds and their association with broadcasts, but does not establish that a terminal, ended broadcast can be re-armed as the same viewer-facing event. The YouTube Live Streaming API distinguishes reusable liveStream feeds from liveBroadcast events.
The dependable option is to select or create another broadcast and share its new link. If keeping the promoted link is essential, that is possible only if the original event remains active; the cited guidance does not promise recovery after YouTube marks it ended.

Set up future streams to make reconnection clearer
- Consider a custom stream key if you want a persistent encoder setting. YouTube supports reusing custom keys, but key reuse is not broadcast reuse.
- Understand auto-start and auto-stop. Check these settings in YouTube Studio before relying on encoder connection behavior; they affect how YouTube handles a connected feed, not whether an ended event can be revived.
- For scheduled events, distinguish the event from the feed. CameraFi’s FAQ describes Event live-streaming as bringing a scheduled broadcast to YouTube, but the FAQ does not provide detailed restart instructions for a disconnected event.
CameraFi’s July 11, 2025 setup guide describes the initial YouTube streaming flow and says to tap STOP to end the broadcast. Its February 4, 2020 FAQ points to event-streaming guidance, but does not establish a method for reopening an ended broadcast. Exact recovery controls therefore depend on the current app and YouTube broadcast state.
