You can reset Samsung Keyboard’s settings and keep learned words: choose Reset keyboard settings, not Erase personalized predictions. Samsung treats these as separate actions; it says erasing personalized predictions removes learned words.
Reset keyboard settings while keeping learned words
- Open Settings.
- Tap General management, then Samsung Keyboard settings. If you cannot find it, search Settings for “Samsung Keyboard” and open the keyboard settings.
- Scroll to Reset to default settings.
- Tap Reset keyboard settings and confirm.
- Do not select Erase personalized predictions if you want to retain learned words.
Samsung says resetting keyboard settings restores those settings to their defaults and does not remove downloaded languages. Its Samsung US keyboard settings guide lists erasing personalized predictions as a separate option. Menu names and locations can vary by device and software version; Samsung’s predictive text guide notes that available options may differ on older devices or operating-system versions.

Which reset option should you choose?
| Option | What it does | Effect on learned words |
|---|---|---|
| Reset keyboard settings | Returns Samsung Keyboard settings to their defaults. Downloaded languages remain. | Choose this for a settings reset while retaining learned words. |
| Erase personalized predictions | Erases data used for word predictions. | Samsung says this removes learned words. |
The reset area can also include options to erase personalized touch-recognition data or clear the keyboard cache. Those are separate actions, so select only the option that matches what you want to change.

Remove one unwanted learned word instead
- Open Samsung Keyboard in any text field and wait for the unwanted word to appear in the predictive toolbar.
- Touch and hold the word, then confirm its removal when prompted.
This removes that suggestion without erasing all personalized predictions, according to Samsung’s predictive text instructions.
