You can reset network settings on a Samsung Galaxy phone without erasing your apps, photos, or other personal files. Open Settings > General management > Reset, choose the reset that matches the connection problem, and confirm it. This removes saved network configuration, so you may need to reconnect Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth accessories.
Choose the reset that matches the problem
Galaxy phones may offer separate resets or a combined network reset. The labels vary by model, carrier, software version, and region; use the closest matching option shown on your phone.

Samsung’s instructions explain that a combined network-settings reset clears Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile-network settings, but not apps or personal data. The available choices are not identical on every Galaxy device. Samsung US reset instructions and Samsung US network troubleshooting show the relevant variations.
Reset network settings from Settings
- Open Settings. Tap the Settings app on your Galaxy phone.
- Go to General management > Reset. If your phone uses slightly different wording, look for the Reset menu under General management.
- Select the connection-specific reset. Choose Reset mobile network settings for mobile service, Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings for those connections, or Reset network settings if that is the combined option available on your device.
- Review the confirmation screen. Make sure you have not selected Factory data reset; that is a different action and erases personal information and data.
- Tap Reset settings and, if prompted, confirm by tapping Reset.

What the reset removes—and what it keeps
A network reset clears the selected network settings. It does not erase installed apps or personal data such as photos and files. It is not a factory reset: do not choose Factory data reset when your goal is to preserve personal content.
After a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth or combined network reset, reconnect to saved Wi-Fi networks and pair Bluetooth accessories again. Samsung’s US instructions specifically note that these connections must be made again: Samsung’s reset guidance.

If the connection still does not work
Resetting network settings cannot resolve every cause. Mobile service can still be affected by coverage, account access, or carrier-side problems. Samsung advises checking mobile-network configuration and contacting the carrier when access or account issues may be involved.
