You can’t view or retrieve your old Samsung account password through Samsung’s recovery flow; you reset it and create a new one. Start in your Galaxy phone or tablet’s Settings, or use Samsung’s account sign-in page in a browser, then verify your identity using an option available for your account.
Reset your Samsung account password
Samsung’s menu labels and their placement can vary by region and software version. Use whichever starting point is available to you.

From a Galaxy device
- Open Settings and tap Samsung account. If you are not signed in, look for Forgot password? or Forgot password or don’t have an account?
- Enter the Samsung account ID, usually the email address associated with the account, and choose the password-reset option.
- Select a verification method offered for your account and complete its prompts. Depending on your account and region, Samsung may offer verification through the primary email, a previously registered recovery email or phone number, or a security question.
- After verification, set a new password and sign in with it.
In a browser
- Open Samsung account sign-in and choose the password-recovery option.
- Enter your account ID, then follow Forgot password? and the on-screen verification steps.
- Create a new password after Samsung verifies your identity.
Samsung’s support guides describe these recovery routes, but the options shown depend on what was registered before access was lost and what is available in your country. Recovery email, recovery phone, and security-question methods require that you set them up in advance. Phone-based password reset is not offered universally. If you forgot your Samsung account ID
Recovering the ID and resetting its password are separate steps. Choose Samsung’s account ID recovery option rather than trying password reset without an ID. Depending on the details available for your account, the flow may show an email hint or verify you through a recovery email or phone number you registered earlier. Once you have the ID, return to password reset and complete verification. Samsung explains both steps in its account ID and password recovery instructions.

If you can’t receive a verification code
First check whether the recovery email or phone number shown in the recovery flow is one you can currently access. If Samsung offers another verification method for your account, select it instead. For some sign-in verification flows, Samsung US says to choose Didn’t get the verification code? and use a text message or backup code if offered. These alternatives depend on the account and the specific sign-in flow; they are not guaranteed to appear for every password reset. See Samsung US troubleshooting guidance.
If you no longer have access to your account email or phone
If you cannot access either the email address or phone number used for the account and the available self-service methods do not work, contact Samsung Customer Support through the official support site for your country. After you reset the password
When prompted, review whether to remain signed in on other devices or sign out of all devices. Samsung Canada documents this choice after a reset. Then use the new password the next time you sign in.
