QNT is described as an Ethereum-based utility token used for access to Quant’s Overledger ecosystem, but that does not give holders ownership, governance rights, guaranteed redemption, or evidence that demand will raise its price. The practical checks are the token’s contractual utility, dated supply disclosures, market liquidity, and dependence on Quant’s services.
What does QNT do in Quant’s ecosystem?
A 2026 Bitstamp MiCA white paper describes QNT as an ERC-20 token issued on Ethereum and used in connection with Overledger, which it presents as infrastructure for interoperability among distributed ledgers and existing systems. The paper describes QNT as part of an access and licensing model for applications and related services. Bitstamp’s 2026 white paper is the relevant disclosure, not proof of customer adoption or token demand.

Quant’s terms, last dated 16 August 2024, describe QNT as a utility token customers may use for Quant products and services, including staking. They say QNT is normally the only digital asset accepted for access to the Quant ecosystem unless an order process agrees otherwise. For a buyer, distinguish the stated mechanism from evidence of economic use: these disclosures explain how QNT may be used, but do not establish the number of paying customers, the amount of QNT required in practice, or the durability of demand. Check current official service terms and the developer hub’s supported-network list before relying on a claim about present functionality; Quant identifies its website as its official information source and points developers to the hub for that list. What do the disclosed supply figures mean?
Supply numbers must be read with their source, date, and definition. The figures below are not interchangeable snapshots of one precisely defined current circulating float.

The 2026 white-paper total and Kraken’s approximate 2025 maximum and circulating figures have different dates and stated precision. Do not combine them into a claim about today’s tradable supply. Before making a decision based on current float or concentration, check current on-chain balances and issuer disclosures; these cited figures alone do not settle the present market float.

What rights does QNT give a holder?
The Bitstamp white paper says QNT has no inherent rights beyond functional use in the ecosystem. It does not confer ownership, governance, or a claim on underlying assets, and it is not redeemable for a guaranteed value. Access depends on infrastructure and applicable contractual terms. Which risks should a buyer check?
Service and project dependence
QNT’s described utility depends on Quant’s infrastructure, service availability, and contractual rules. Bitstamp warns that access depends on compatible infrastructure and those terms. Quant’s terms reserve the possibility of service changes and access limits. Consider what practical use would remain if functionality changed or access were interrupted.
Ndax’s Canadian statement, updated 19 August 2026, says it is unclear whether Overledger would continue or QNT retain utility and value if Quant Network Limited ceased operating. That is Ndax’s assessment, not a regulator’s determination. Ndax also says its own Canadian regulatory conclusion could change, potentially leading it to halt or withdraw QNT trading on its platform. Liquidity, transferability, and execution
Bitstamp’s 2026 paper warns QNT may lose some or all of its value, may not always be transferable or liquid, and may fail to be exchangeable for the promised service if the project fails or is discontinued. It also notes liquidity can vary by venue and trading pair, large transactions may affect execution, and the price may fall to zero. Bitstamp risk disclosure

- Confirm that the exchange offers QNT in your jurisdiction and that withdrawals are currently available on the network you intend to use.
- Inspect the exact trading pair, spread, and order-book depth near the time you plan to trade; availability and liquidity can change.
- For a larger order, consider how market impact and execution differ from the displayed last price.
Legal status and protections
The legal and venue assessments in Canadian exchange disclosures are not universal classifications. Ndax’s comments concern its own Canadian assessment, while Kraken’s disclosure supplies dated Canadian supply information; neither establishes how every jurisdiction or platform treats QNT.

For EU buyers, Bitstamp says its 2026 white paper has not been approved by an EU competent authority and is not a prospectus. It also says QNT is not covered by investor-compensation or deposit-guarantee schemes under the EU directives it names.
