The exact design varies by model, so check your refrigerator’s manual before removing unfamiliar rails, tabs, or glass parts.
Before you remove a drawer
Find the model number and consult the matching Samsung manual if your drawer, rails, door bins, or shelf look different from the basic arrangement below. Samsung notes that removal steps vary by model. Its support guidance covers common drawer and shelf designs, but do not force a part that does not release easily.

Remove the vegetable drawer
- Take out the door bins first. Removing them creates clearance and reduces the chance of damaging the bins or drawer. Follow the manual’s instructions for your bin design.
- Pull the drawer all the way open. Lift it gently, then slide it out of the refrigerator.
- Clean the drawer and its compartment. Use a moistened soft, lint-free cloth or paper towel, then dry the parts thoroughly. Samsung’s U.S. cleaning guidance also permits a clean microfiber cloth and mild detergent for spills.
- Reinstall the drawer. Set it onto the frame rails and slide it inward. Check that it is aligned and moves smoothly before replacing the door bins.
Clean the glass shelf above the drawers
Some refrigerator shelves lift out; others are glass set into a frame. Handle glass carefully, and let a cold shelf reach room temperature before cleaning it with lukewarm water. Samsung warns: “Never clean the glass shelf with warm or hot water, as this could cause the glass to shatter.” See Samsung’s shelf and drawer removal guidance for the applicable design.

If the glass has retaining clips
Some assemblies have clips that allow the glass to separate from its frame. Confirm the release method in the manual for your model before removing the glass, and handle the pane with care.
If the glass does not separate from the frame
Do not pry or force it apart if there are no removable clips. Samsung’s U.S. instructions describe soaking a non-separating shelf in a water-and-bleach solution if debris is trapped; if it still cannot be cleaned, the guidance says to replace it. Check the exact model manual before attempting this, and follow its cleaning and handling directions.
Choose cleaning products carefully
For routine cleaning, use a soft cloth and dry removable parts well. Samsung U.S. permits mild detergent for spills. Chemical cautions can be model- and region-specific: a Samsung Singapore care article for RH62, RS58, and RS62 models warns against benzene, thinner, and household or car detergent such as Clorox because they may damage surfaces and cause a fire. Consult your own manual rather than treating that list as universal guidance.

How often should you deep-clean?
Samsung’s U.S. recommendations differ: its routine-maintenance page advises deep cleaning every six months, while its drawer-removal guide recommends once a year. These are recommendations, not measured results. Clean spills promptly and use the schedule in your model’s manual, taking your household’s use and messes into account.

Not every Samsung crisper has an adjustable humidity control. Where one is present, Samsung U.S. suggests high humidity for vegetables such as leafy greens and broccoli, and low humidity for fruits such as apples, grapes, and pears. Samsung Canada also advises cleaning drawers regularly and checking that vents are not blocked; that guidance applies to refrigerators sold in Canada.
