Open Start > Settings > Time & language > Language & region.

Find the language entry associated with the unwanted layout. Open that entry’s more-options menu and select Language options. The exact presentation can vary with the Windows interface.

Under Keyboards, select the layout you want to remove and choose Remove.

Microsoft’s language and keyboard/input layout instructions document this process for Windows 11 and Windows 10.
If you can’t find the layout
A keyboard layout may be listed under a language entry other than the one its name suggests. Check both the entry for your current Windows display language and the entry matching the layout’s language. Installed layouts are not necessarily attached to a language pack of the same language.

To see which layouts Windows can switch between, select the input-language icon on the taskbar. You can also press Windows logo key + Spacebar to cycle through the installed layouts.
If Remove is greyed out or unavailable
Microsoft says Remove is unavailable when the selected layout is the only keyboard layout installed for the current Windows display language. Add another keyboard layout first, then return to the unwanted layout’s Language options > Keyboards list and remove it.

Removing a layout is not the same as removing a language
A keyboard layout controls typing input; changing or removing one does not change the Windows display language. If you only want to stop an extra keyboard from appearing in the switcher, remove that layout under Keyboards rather than removing the entire language entry. Windows treats language-pack removal as a separate procedure.
