To remove a card Chrome suggests, first check where it is stored: a Wallet-managed card must be removed in Google Wallet, while a card saved locally can be removed in Chrome. On a computer, open Chrome → More → Settings → Autofill and passwords → Payment methods. On Android, go to Chrome → More → Settings → Payment methods. Turn off Save and fill payment methods if you also want Chrome to stop saving or offering payment details going forward.
Check whether the card is in Google Wallet or Chrome
Chrome payment suggestions can come from Google Wallet or from storage on the device. Google says Chrome may offer local storage when Wallet does not support a payment method. The removal route depends on which kind of entry you see: for a Wallet-managed card, Google Chrome Help says, “If your payment method is saved in Google Wallet, you’ll need to edit or delete it in Google Wallet.” Google Chrome Help explains both storage options.

If Chrome shows an Edit in Google Wallet option, use it to manage the card in Wallet. If it shows a local entry control instead, remove the device-stored payment information from Chrome’s Payment methods settings.

- Open Chrome and select More → Settings.
- Open Autofill and passwords → Payment methods.
- Find the card. If Chrome offers Edit in Google Wallet, open Wallet, choose Remove payment method, and confirm Remove.
- If the entry is stored locally and Chrome provides a remove or delete control, use that control to delete it from the device.
Google’s Wallet instructions also describe turning off account-level saving: in desktop Chrome, open Settings, select the account name under You and Google, then turn off Payment methods and other info from Google Wallet. This controls future account saving or syncing; it is not a substitute for deleting a card already stored in Wallet. See Google’s instructions for managing payment methods.

Remove a card in Chrome on Android
- Open Chrome and tap More → Settings → Payment methods.
- Tap the card, choose Edit, then select Remove payment method.
- Tap Remove and save. If Chrome asks whether to remove the card from this device or from your Google Account across devices, choose the scope you intend.
Google says removing the payment method also turns off its associated virtual card for autofill. Google’s Android instructions cover these steps and the scope choice.
Stop Chrome from saving or suggesting cards
In Chrome’s Payment methods settings, turn off Save and fill payment methods. This stops Chrome from saving or offering payment details for autofill going forward. Turning it off does not, by itself, delete a card already saved in Google Wallet; remove that card in Wallet if deletion is your goal. Google Chrome Help distinguishes the save-and-fill setting from Wallet management.

Will removing the card affect other devices?
It depends on where the card is stored, whether Chrome is signed in, and the scope shown during removal. A locally stored card is managed in Chrome on that device; a Wallet-stored card is managed in Wallet and may be associated with your Google Account. On Android, Chrome may explicitly let you choose device-only or account-wide removal. Follow the wording in the confirmation prompt rather than assuming every removal is local or global. Google’s Android guidance describes the available scope choice, and Google’s sign-in and sync guidance explains how account sign-in relates to data across devices.
What if a small charge appears after saving a card?
Google says it may place a low-value authorization to confirm card ownership when a card is saved or automatically entered. Its troubleshooting guidance says a $0 or $1 validation charge can disappear within 1 to 7 business days, depending on the bank. That describes Google’s verification process; do not assume an unexplained charge is harmless. Contact your bank or card issuer if the charge does not match this explanation or you are unsure about it. Google’s Chrome troubleshooting guidance covers validation charges.
