OmniGIF says processing is local in the browser and that files are not uploaded to its servers for conversion. This is the company’s description, not an independent network or security audit. Its extension documentation says the extension hands an image off by opening OmniGIF with it; processing then occurs on the OmniGIF website. When to use a different approach
OmniGIF is a reasonable fit when the animation has a fairly uniform background color and you want a transparent animated export. If the background is detailed, changes between frames, or blends into the subject, the documented workflow does not promise clean subject separation; use an approach designed for that kind of segmentation and inspect its animation support, edge controls, timing preservation, size limits, processing location, and output formats before choosing it.
