To reload a page in Chrome on Android, open it, tap More, then tap Refresh or Reload. Google’s Android help pages document this ordinary reload, but do not describe a separate desktop-style hard-refresh command. If reloading does not fix a stale or broken page, try Incognito, then clear cached images and files if needed.
How do I reload a page in Chrome on Android?
- Open the page you want to reload in Chrome.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu).
- Tap Refresh or Reload. Google uses both labels in its Android instructions: Fix connection and loading errors in Chrome – Android says “Refresh,” while Manage tabs in Chrome – Android says “Reload.”
How do I hard refresh Chrome on Android?
Google’s Android help pages reviewed here do not document a dedicated hard-refresh command or gesture. They describe ordinary reloading and, separately, deleting browsing data. So if a standard reload still shows an outdated page, do not assume a particular Android gesture will bypass every cached resource; use the troubleshooting steps below instead.

What to try if the page still looks stale or will not load
Test the page in Incognito
Open the same page in an Incognito tab. If it works there, Google recommends proceeding to browsing-data deletion. Incognito is a diagnostic test, not a replacement for fixing the underlying issue.

Clear cached images and files
In Chrome, open the Delete browsing data controls and select Cached images and files. This targets cached files without also selecting cookies and site data. Those are separate categories; deleting cookies and site data can affect website settings, so include them only if needed.

Check whether the problem is broader than one page
- Try opening another website. If several sites fail, the issue may involve the device or connection rather than one page.
- Verify that the internet connection works and that the page URL is correct.
- Update Chrome and restart it. Google’s instructions for updating are at Update Google Chrome – Android.
- Consider whether device settings, device software, limited device memory, or website downtime or maintenance could be contributing. Which troubleshooting step should I use first?

If the problem is with video or a game
For media that will not play, use Google’s Android-specific troubleshooting guidance for videos and games that won’t play. A page reload may not address a playback-specific cause.
